TP is a gamecube game.
Nintendo are adding the rev control additions as a bonus extra for those who want more out of playing on the rev.
It's like the Oracle Zeldas where if you put them in a gameboy advance, a secret shop opens up.
Nintendo have already said that a Revolution exclusive Zelda is already in the works and that twilight princess is a gamecube game but with rev bonus features. The game will be excellent no matter what it is played on.

You realize that it will definitely have Revolution controller features?

1) Magazine reports it will
2) Nintendo says "Nintendo has made no new announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess." Notice how they say it won't use special Revolution controller things. Oh, that's right, they don't. Hmmm, so, a large rumor is out in the wild, and Nintendo doesn't dismiss it, they merely say "We haven't given any official announcements." Well, yeah you haven't, but somebody let something slip (3), just as the magazine responded.

So yes, those of us with a gamecube will be left out partially (unless you buy a Revolution. Nice strategy Nintendo, and way to ripoff your customers >

God guys...stop bickering.

Nintendo said it would be a Gamecube game. If you don't have a Gamecube it'll play on the Revolution. If you bought the Gamecube for this game, and this game only you're an idiot...on top of that, ou really can't be out all that much money anyways.

Nintendo hasn't given a release date...so all this retailer jargon is pointless. It'll come out when NIntendo says it will. If it's November '06...then November '06 it'll have to be. Nintendo did the Zelda fanbase a faover by not releasing an incomplete game...unlike Wind Waker...

WTF is the point? There's only so much you can cram in the Gamecube's disk space. 1.5 GB or so, was it?

Oh lord, just calm down and stop whining about Twilight Princess. It'll be ready when it's ready. So what if it will include Revolution extras? It'll get here. In the meantime, go outside and enjoy the sun.

Yeah seriously. I knew it would come to this since LAST november, when Rev. details were revealed.

Just think about it. A killer app. Playable on both the $100 GC AND the $250 RS. It's exactly like the Core vs. Premium 360 bundles, except better.

Buying it with RS is a better deal in the long run, but many people are short-sighted enough (or poor enough) to still buy a GC. Genius.

Oh dear Lord... A ripoff of Kameo? Lemme guess, you're 12? 11? Am I close? Whatever, doesn't matter.

Zelda has been around for 20 years. It is not, nor has it ever been a ripoff of Kameo. Rare used to work as a second party for Nintendo, so a lot of their talent and skills were developed under Nintendo's watchful eyes. Even reviewers notice that Kameo's style is reminiscent of Nintendo's, because Rare used to work for them.

Anyhoo...moving on. Nintendo says that this will be the last Zelda game as we know it. Can't we just let them perfect it? Do we need to get upset? Yeah, I'll admit, I was upset from the first delay, but it's understandable. They're not doing it just to be jerks, they're doing it to make their property the best it can be. Handhelds aside, if this truly is the last Zelda as we know it, then I can wait for them to make it the best Zelda to this point.

I love it when people tell me they feel sorry for me for being a Gamecube owner. I bought my GC the day it came out, even got up early and waited out in the cold. I've never regretted it. I have plenty of great games to play. No, I don't have GTA, but I don't like GTA. No, I don't have COD2, but quite honestly, whenever I feel like I need to play it, I just go over to Target and spend 5 minutes on the 360 demo kiosk, and that's enough for me. I don't need to go online where I get owned by a 4 year old and then told that I am gay. No thanks. I have an XBox, but I haven't really touched it since Halo 2 came out. It just sort of gathers dust, kind of sad. On the other hand, I've been playing my GC more than ever lately. Super Mario Strikers is really quite a lot of fun - it hasn't garnered a whole lot of attention, but my housemate and I play it a lot and it often has us standing up and dancing around when we score a goal in sudden death. I know I'm a little late to the RE4 game, but when they dropped the price to $19.99, I figured I didn't have any more excuses. I'm in the middle of that right now (in fact, it's on my TV right now, I just saved and decided to browse the web).

I'm not an uber-hardcore gamer, so I guess I don't really need a new hot game every week, but I do need quality games. I don't want more DOA or more GTA, and quite honestly, I don't give a flip about Halo 3 - I think I've gotten enough Halo to last me, and aside from the online multiplayer, Halo 2 really didn't bring much to the table for me. I'm convinced at this point that Halo 3 will just be a rehash of the same stuff. With my GC I had Viewtiful Joe, Ikaruga, the Metroid Primes, and those were all a lot of fun.

Even if I do start seeing 360s for sale, I really have no reason to want one. But I'll be there for the Revolution launch. Nintendo did right by me this generation (and I'm not saying I'm a typical gamer), and I have faith they'll do right by me for the next one as well.

Considering that the majority of nintendo fans said that Zelda Twilight Princess was going to be the "last" GC game they would 'buy', Then It's kinda obvious that nintendo will make it the "last" GC game they would 'sell'.

lol

Thats why the game has been delayed much longer then it needed too despite the time for development. This will prevent a loss from other gc games. They have to protect their sales of other gc games that are still in the market until current sales saturate, then they will release the finale product TP that they know will sell well.

I just got an email from Best Buy customer support after the last delay email to November. It seems the new release date is now 4/1. No idea how much water that holds, but a month and a half is better than waiting 9 months or so.

Meh, delaying can be risky!

I bought Ocrina for the N64 and Half Life for the PC on the same day. Both touted as 'the best game ever' - a good weekend! Knowing Zelda would be a biggie, I went thru Half Life first, and did it in a weekend. Short but utterly amazing.
Ocrina felt so crude and old fashioned after that, and I didn't finish more than 10% before loosing interest.

If I've got a brand new PS3 and the latest 360 games to play in Novemeber, Zelda might seem a bit passe once again, epsecially as the Rev is little more than a gamecube with a daft gimmicy controller. Graphics won't be next gen quaulity and that plastic wand isn't gonna change gaming anymore than eyetoy did imho.

A shorter game out on time is better than a longer one that's stale. Duke Nukem Forever anyone? lol.

get yer finger out Nintendo slackers!

I'm not quite certain why this is as supposedly "bad" as everyone makes it out to be. Delays happen all the time - OoT took at least three years to complete.

We still don't know when the game will definitely be released. If there are delays there will be two possible reasons - 1. Nintendo want to make sure that the game is a good as they want it to be when it comes out, and/or 2. If what people are saying is true, perhaps add a few Revolution features to the game.

The game is definitely coming out on Gamecube - no-one has reported anything different.

As to the extra fetures, well it's up to you to decide if they're real. I personally believe they will, but things change quickly in this business.

When you think about it, no-one has "lost" anything from any delay. Gamecube owners (myself included) will be able to play it on a Gamecube, and also on the Revolution, possibly with extra features, possibly not. We might have to wait a little longer, but it's not like we can do anything about it.

Besides, it wouldn't be a true Nintendo game if it hadn't been delayed at least three time... ;)

Listen people the game is still on track for a late spring release Best buy has recently changed their date back to april yes It was a glitch their system. but again we do not know the actuall date of course but nintendo has hinted time and again at a spring release date. I think it's getting harder for them to not spill the beans until the time is right. they're eager for their gamers to have this title. but they also want it to be the best gamecube title out their remember there is already a revolution zelda game planned and it not twilight princess. if twilight princess isn't out before e3 you can bet it will be out shortly after that. however if it is out before e3 you can bet it will still get the attention it deserves at the show anyway.

hey you guys cant be true zelda fans or you would have look at all the information possible. IT IS FOR GAMECUBE but it planed to be released around the revoulutions release date because being the gamecube games will be compatible with the revolutions nitendo has Officaly stated that it is going to be out for the gamecube but have revolution controller compatiblitys and this is because of the revoulutions controller shape (which is a remote controll type shape for people who didnt know) and because of it they are puting in features so you can use the revolution and its controller for the mini games like the fishing and so on. BUT IT IS FOR GAMECUBE
