I'll venture a guess that the word on a stateside Mother 3 is "no".

However, the series is so popular that it will probably get translated by fans at breakneck speed.

Heh i only just completed Earthbound (in 2 days).
Rather wierd and Japanese but very fun.

I hope they bring this to the rest of the world, the Japanese arent the only ones that like RPGs!

If Mother 1 + 2 (Earthbound 0 + 1) and Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) aren't released Stateside, I am cry.

Honestly, Nintendo. How hard can it be to translate it? How can that effort not be worth the gain?

Personally I'm not too excited about Mother 3 anymore after seeing the screenshots. I'm dissapointed that they got rid of the isometric and I'm not too impressed in the changes with the artstyle. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I was hopping for something closer to the SNES Earthbound...

Er, no offense, but it's Shigesato Itoi. And I'm fairly sure this will make it stateside. Depending on how well it does, Mother 1 + 2 may even be brought here, too. Of course, this is just my humble opinion.

Uh, #7, are you insane? It looks nearly identical to Earthbound. Unless you're sad it doesn't look like the ugly N64 demo?

Wow... that's classic Earthbound design alright, although the kid looks quite a bit different from Ness or Ninten. And for that theme... it reminds me very strongly of Eight Melodies (Sound Stone) and Eight Melodies (Queen Mary's Lullabye). I think my import copy of Mother 1+2 is going to have a good friend nearby soon enough.

Okay, time to clear my calendar for late April. I have to have time to plow through Mother 3 for a review.

The kid is probably Flint from the cancelled N64 Mother 3. There are screenshots from the N64 version that match up very well with some of these, particularly the rain scene.
