why would they use 1.6 as opposed to source? is 1.6 less buggy/exploitable or something?

Why the hell isn't Trackmania Nations on there? That game beats the heck out of Most Wanted and PGR3

I guess CS 1.6 is just "13373r" or something. Or maybe it's because more people play CS 1.6 (Source has a few "minor" changes, but to long-time CS 1.6 players, those "minor" are far from it)

As for Halo 2, good riddance. :D
That game is no good.

PGR3, over Halo 2... They must have decided they had too many FPSes, since Halo 2 is infinitely the better competitive game. But of course, they have DOA, so maybe they don't care about competition and such.

for the fighting games, what an ABSOLUTE JOKE! And it has everything to do with Tecmo sponsoring WCG, so every year they'll get good advertisment of DOA games. Whatever happened to the REAL fighting game companies, like SNK and Capcom? And yes, i am saying Tecmo is not really a fighting game company, they make a beefing up graphics more of a priority over actial gameplay.

just video.google search up the number of KOF and Street Fighter 3 tournament videos there are compared to every single DOA game ever created. I know it's doesnt have anything to do with the graphics, because Starcraft is still being used. It leads me to believe its all about who gives WCG the sponsorship money.

Wow, lots of antihaloism in this comment section. While I don't agree with the majority here that the game sucked (well actually I do to a degree- but only the story mode, multi-player is great) I like the inclusion of PGR3. That game takes skill and has a lot of depth. I noticed a lot of complaints about DOA as well. Depending on which one they're using, I might defend it as well. One thing that DOA has done better than some of its counterparts is reversals, which add a much deeper element to the gameplay.

Quite a few people worldwide play Halo 2. Here in the UK we've been waiting for a MLG-style tournament--we only had the World Cyber Games last year, and several teams have banked on Halo 2 being included this year. Whether you're a keyboard and mouser or console player, it does seem unfair to suddenly exclude *anyone* who plays console FPS games from the competition (ok, not exclude, but force them to switch to PC shooters)--especially given last year's precedent.

I'm slightly biased, of course; I head up a competitive gaming team in the UK, and we've been working on our Halo 2 team for months. If competitions continue in this vein this year, we won't be able to compete. Not because we won't play anything other than Halo 2, but because we've been working on FPS strats and our team simply doesn't work the same way in PGR3 or DOA4. Back to square one it is then...

I could care less for Halo 2, but dropping it from this tournament is ridiculous. It is still the most played xbox live game. You go where the masses are. Obviously, you don't want too many FPS in the competition, but Counter Strike on the PC and Halo 2 on the home console are two different feeling games. When the poeople stop playing Halo 2 and move onto a different game, then you pull it from the tournament. But for now, Halo 2 is still the king of online console gaming (unfortunately).

Halo is utter tripe, PES is a tournament game, not FIFA, as FIFA is gash. Oh and 'console' and 'FPS' don't go together anyway.

'Goldeneye!' You cry, played that game lately? Not much fun is it?

Nothing shallow about DoA. Try competing against some good players and get a clue.
