The Last Guitar Hero: the Movie
We all love Guitar Hero, but what happens when it becomes an addiction? "I live Rock and Roll, I breathe Rock and Roll, I piss Rock and Roll" admits the addicted teen in this harrowing tale of drugs, rock, and drugs. This fan-made film is very well shot and edited, and pretty damn funny, albeit very reminiscent of the Tenacious D show (yes, before they were bona fide rock stars, Jack Black and Kyle Gass were mere mortals doing comedy shorts for HBO).

Dammit, I was hoping my Flash cartoon would be the first Guitar Hero inspired movie/video. Oh well... probably another two weeks or so until that's done.
This was pretty funny by the way, I hate not being able to laugh at this stuff out loud at work.

I wanted to like it, but it was pretty lame.

I can't imagine playing a guitar with buttons and no strings. If it isn't a real guitar, I'm not playing it. The Guitar Hero controller instantly makes me think, "Fischer-Price: My first guitar." Go play in a band.
I thought Nintendo was the one with the "Kiddie" image. But even they use letters to designate their buttons, instead of preschool basic shapes.

C'mon, melaniemad, for a fan-made short that was pretty good. It was goofy, sure, but some of the line delivery was actually pretty good. And I agree, the editing was spot on.

Guitar hero is probably the funnest game ever!

SuicideNinja,
I too play guitar, and I also doubted this game. But then I played it at Best Buy one day while I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish her shopping, and I saw what it was all about. Believe it or not, the kiddie guitar kicks ass. It really does make the game. When you start playing on expert difficulty, it really feels like you're playing a normal electric guitar. It's beautiful. You should try it out.

Suicide NInja--
Indeed, I hated Guitar Hero the first time I played it. Having played guitar now for about 7 or 8 years, that I could not pass "Ziggy Stardust" on medium made me so angry that I instead picked up an electric and just jammed along/figured out the solo.
Weeks pass, I finally give it another go...and you know what? I fell in love. Sure, it's not the same as playing with strings--harder, in some respects--but there are little nuances that really imprssed me, such as the ability to hold multiple frets down during single note runs, and the ability to utilise legato during fast runs.
This was a game made by serious musicians looking to make a fun product, and it works. My hats off to them.

ho-ho, that was great!
"You gotta stop it - the drugs! -- the rock!! ... the drugs!!"
I don't know if the face dive into the pile of cocaine was Scarface inspired, but it was funny stuff. The whole thing almost reminded me of an after school special but as in-joke. Great stuff.

what is that song at the beginning called?
Heather @ Feb 20th 2006 4:19AM
Hahahaha!! (o^O^o) That's one of the funniest things I ever saw. That was so awesome. My favorite part was when the guys started doing drugs. And then when the one guy wants him to get out and afterwards he's like "What have I done?". Pure genius. These guys are my heroes!
Matt Gamble @ Feb 21st 2006 5:21PM
does anybody know what the name of the song is at the beginning? that was a good song! i wish they had it on the game.
Grant @ Feb 21st 2006 5:58PM
the beginning song is Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie
