They should send this kid a PS3 box with a dead animal corpse in it. Something small like a squirrel. Oh, and give him a job doing landscaping at the Sony Headquarters. He wants to work for free? Well, that'll teach him.

If this is a joke its funny, If it is not a joke it is sad. But regardless of the platform there are "these people" out there who only care about the brand. And sometimes brand works to the advantage of the consumer. I pod was the Brand for MP3 players and then every company and its mother made accessories for it and then it grew to the levels it is today. The NES gave us the super Nes, but then it gave us the Virtual Boy and N64 (both interesting in their own ways, but by no means did either of these live up to their brands name.) We will see if the PS3 can be the first console to win three times in a row in the video game market. But regardless of what ever happens there will be the fanboys for their systems. It makes sence. A younger consumer whom only has limited funds will fight to the death for his system since the longer the system lives the more games he or she will be able to buy for their system. Now to some whom plan on and have in the past bought most all of the consoles the fanboy part is less important, but still there. I do favor one company over another since i like its company only games. So if its mario, Halo, or Solid Snake you like pick your side and come out swinging or just buy all three consoles. There is always a reason to own all three. There is always console exclusives that make it worth saving your allowance.

To be honest, I don't see what the diffrence is between this letter and the posts made on gamefaqs.com. I mean really I don't. It's funny because it seems to be sincere and real, but all the typos and grammar seem to be consitent with the rest of the internet.

Notwithstanding the poor English, his ideas are all over the place for someone who claims to be studying IT engineering. Who writes a company asking for a job after begging for a discounted product?

Either he's a little kid who is lying (or grossly exaggerating) about studying IT, really is a college student but has disturbed though processes or a cognitive disability, or the letter is a fake.

Ryan de Michigan: if you've been reading Joystiq for any length of time, you'll know that "slow news day" is not a phrase we think has any bearing on what we do here. "Slow news day" is a phrase that applies to pure news sites, and we are proud to exclude ourselves from that boring lot.

We have always experimented with different types of content and will continue to do so in the future. We like to be creative and to bring readers a variety of content that may or may not be classified as mere news.

Hope that explains where we're coming from.

I think everyone should team up to buy him a different system. It sounds like he needs more balance in his life. Could we send him a Revolution and/or a 360? I think in the long run it'll be good for him.

-also dude.. if you want to work for sony you should save that money and go to art college. it'll cost a wee bit more, but there's a nice animation program at www.sheridanc.on.ca

I'd hate to burst your bubble genju...but that man is DEFINITELY a fanboy. Now you may or may not consider yourself a Sony fanboy and may or may not be trying to cast someone like this out of the catergory you may or may not consider yourself a part of. One thing you might want to note (and let this be a lesson to all gamers) that Fanboys come in all shapes and sizes. There is no room for discrimination of other fanboys. Sadly, it would be much better that you catergorize him as a fanboy. It certainly would look better on your intelligence rather than you calling him a "kiss-ass indian". That comment reeks of hate and total discrimination to those of the Indian race.

Honestly, as a Nintendo fanboy, I have to say that Sony fanboys in general are bigger losers than me. Again, that's coming from a Nintendo fanboy. Unlike this guy, and most other Nintendo fanboys, I actually have some control over my love for a trademark. I did not think about buying the E-Reader for a second (okay, I'm lying, I thought of it after discovering I could get infinite Tanooki suits in Super Mario 3 with it), I stopped played the Mario Party series at 4, the last Pokemon-related thing I paid money for was the first Red game 8 years ago, I have no interest in the GBA Micro, Mario Baseball makes me vomit with rage, I will not buy the DS Lite, I despised the Virtual Boy after playing 3 minutes of it at a Best Buy that actually cared about it's game department (read: hooks up 16 large TVs to display what's happening on the Super MArio 64 demo which didn't just reset itself after a few minutes). But hey, whatever makes them money, I say they're okay to continue with the cash cow-milking. I for one hope to work at Nintendo one day, and I most certainly won't beg them give me a discount on stuff. I would perhaps beg them to show me what the crap they're up to that they don't feel like showing at the moment, though.

I am 1up_clock. I am a human that just happens to be a Nintendo fanboy.

End of rant/rambling.

Things like this make Sony's image even more disgusting. They don't deserve this praise, the developers do for their hard work. Sony made a painful console to develop for. We would have seen much better games if the Xbox or even Gamecube would have taken the lead.

Think of how much less time something like God of War would have taken to develop for the Xbox.

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the games on the PS2, but it's age shows badly if you play the other systems regularly.

This guy is Bill Gates illegitimate son. From a trip he took to india in the late 80s. He rang bill up to get a loan a few weeks ago, & bill told him to get a job. He asked his dad for a job, but bill told him to get a job a 7-11 or a callcentre for phone or internet companies.

To piss bill off for this, his son wrote to sony to get a job. He "accidently" sent this to ms HQ by fax, email & mail, as well as everywhere else.

Thankyou for coming, sir.

How ridiculous is it to have a $900-$800 price tag on a games console. that means it will be $1400NZ for me.

Does anyone know how much it will cost this poor guy to own a ps3? and also how much the average wage is for indians?

I am assuming this guy is either lower middle class. meaning he is not rich enough to get it when he wants it, but not poor either.

again, i make the point that i think that microsoft made the right call with making HD DVD an additional peripheral rather than shoving it down peoples throats like sony are doing with Blu-ray.

I am from pakistan and I bet i am a little more poor than this guy. I wish to work at namco (for there cool tekken series) but I'll have no problem working a SCEE for free ..or if they wish I'll work over time somewhere else to earn some money and pay them in return to give me a job at SCEE .. i wont ask for any food or clothing or anything.
As far as the PS3 is concerned i am willing to donate my pc to whoever at sony can provide me a PS3 for it, I bet my PC has somewhat the same price as the PS3. I will even allow sony to post ads about the PS3 at my blog (currenty my blog is seeing its worst days (10 visitors in 1.5 months, 9 of these are my visits). Anyway if anybody at sony thinks I am available anytime for sony at .. abbasjin ate-the-rat-of gmail.com

I won't hesitate to rob a bank for getting my PS3 if i couldn't manage the cash for it as i am a student. Any other PS3-needy-but-cant-affordy can join my clan .. currently i am the chief and 0 members.
