weak selection again this week. VG Cats wins it for me.

I love the CS:S ones, especially this one. (He didn't even say LOL)

I liked the ctrl+alt+del comic. It was definitely creative.
I swear though, if I hear one more thing about Dick Cheney shooting that guy, I am going to kill something. It surprised me when I read it in the paper on Monday, now it's just aggravating.

I thought this week's selection was quite good. A lot of clever ones. Of course VGCats continues to get votes even when it's not that funny or creative. Glad to see it so close, and the winner being worthy.

It's a really great selection this week.. I really enjoyed it.
I went for the pac-man one, I'm an arcade junky at heart.. I really liked it.
Though the pong one was okay, ctrl alt delete whille being inventive was a little dull.
The dick cheney one was a little distasteful in my opinion..
The others were piss poor.

You should add the webcomic Kilobyte,
It's address is leetbunny.smackjeeves.com

Yeah, I mean, political affiliations aside, I kind of feel bad for all the jokes Cheney has endured--the "friendly fire" joke, while distasteful, might tickle some people's fancy. I mean, there are people to this day who still laugh when someone shouts "I'm rick james, bitch!"
Aggravating to me, but then again I don't think I'm the definitive source of tasteful humor, either.

Why doesn't Pac-Man turn around to see the ghost, then scream? This drove me crazy. Maybe it would have got my vote if this wasn't so glaringly weird to me.
Who did I vote for? Don't pretend to care ;)

Ctrl-Alt-Delete is winning, are you kidding me?! What was the joke there? He proposed in an original way! Har har har!
Once again, Concerned is head and shoulders above the rest and can't win.

This one would have been better than all of them if he didn't explain the punchline.

Yay, that new 'A Scanner Darkly' trailer is awesome, I just read the book yesterday.
I could only get a 320x170 version of it, hopefully a better resolution was released, I'll just keep looking...

Remember when C-A-D was funny?
Me either.

It was tough 'cos there were some good ones... But when I got to CAD's one... I knew right then that was the one. Heck, if some random guy told me to come up to an arcade machine where the high score initals spelled out "Will you marry me?" I'd hop on his bike with him and ride into the eternal sunset... Now that's pretty darn creative.

Diamonds are dumb. Stop being sheeple, people. The rocks are common and should not be a part of the "proposal" process. Lame.

I love Concerned, but if you dont play Counter Strike Source, you wont get the jokes in this week's comics.
"Diamonds are dumb. Stop being sheeple, people. The rocks are common and should not be a part of the "proposal" process. Lame."
I would bet money that this poster has never had a girlfriend in his entire life.

to Pal(#8): i'm pretty sure it's because he's 2D.
to ScottE(#15): and i would bet money that you're absolutely correct. a lot of people seem to think a lot of things about relationships are stupid and they would be original and do things differently.. until they're in one. then they understand ;).

Been married for years, thanks. I would bet money that you've never questioned the origins of the "diamond engagement ring." Think about it.

C'mon joystiq, even though it's winning, I think that the CAD comic you picked was a bad choice for the poll, because you'd have to know what was going on in the story to really get it. If you want a funny comic, then go with #10 and pick this one. http://www.cad-comic.com/comic.php?d=20060218

Although I don't particulalry like ctrlaltdel all that much, this comic was great.

Nope, I'd say this CAD they chose is the best choice. It was extremely creative and was on a feel-good level. It defenitely deserves a #1 spot.

Rare Hare (#16):
I'm pretty sure that when you pointed right, Pac-Man pointed right, and when you pointed left, Pac-Man pointed left. It's 2D, but it won't fool the kids!

Complaining about the diamond ring... Oi... The comic was all about the way it was done, not that he was giving her a diamond ring. How could you tell it was diamond? It could have been CZ, or Australian Crystal, or it could have been a cheap candy machine rhinestone! But anyhoo, diamond ring, cute symbol (a whole lot better than doing something like hanging an albatros around your lady's neck). Yeah, it's common, but it's still considered precious and is a good symbol of promise. Any ring or no ring is fine. If I got a candy machine ring, heck, I'd be excited. It's the thought really.

Pal(#21): good point, but then think about the EARLY pacman. he pointed 1 way all the time. which was right, the direction he is facing in the comic. i'm notsure whether or not they meant it that way, though. it's either laziness or attention to detail :-D.

None of these were funny this week. CAD made me smile, but that was it.
And here's my snide VGCats comment for this week, since it's never funny... Only VGCats would mix Pac-Man with a joke that was only moderately funny back in 1999.
Penny Arcade doesn't get nearly enough selection for voting on Joystiq. Two out of three strips last week were about games, and they were both good...

What is wrong with you people? I don't question your votes or anything, but the reason the VGCats one was funny is because Pacman had the portals on the sides, you could go out one and come in on the other side without changing directions. The joke is that Pacman can see the ghost behind the doctor, cause he can see in the upcoming panel.
Either that or he's just gotten so used to ghosts chasing him, his heightened senses tell him whenever there is one behind him.

I am done with Extra Life. It seems like every comic they come out with is another tired and tasteless joke that got old the week before.

Sheesh, Levi. Take it easy dude. Pretty broad thing to say..do you read the comic other than the one that gets in here each week?

Hold on...Scott, are you actually Scott Johnson? Sorry man, I'm just not digging yer comic. I have been through your site before. A few made me crack a smile, but most make me roll my eyes. My first experience with your comics was that one with a kid sitting on an Xbox 360 power brick for a chair. I was a perfect example of the humor of your strip. Anyhow, all of this is just one man's opinion. Just be glad that you aren't as reviled as much as VG Cats are. There seems to be a weekly hating party on this site for that comic.
