Exploring Cantha in Guild Wars: Factions

The buzz is quickly building for Guild Wars: Factions--the second installment of NCsoft's popular, subscription-free MMO--and GameSpot wants to be your tour guide through the new continent of Cantha. According to the article, Factions can be played without the first game, but if you want to transfer your characters from the original continent of Tyria, you'll need both. Stops along the decisively Asian-themed land will include Shing Jea Island, the Petrified Forest, the Jade Sea, and the Undercity. Factions arrives April 28.

There's actually no offical release date for Factions as of yet. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a release date finalized this week, more than likely either on the site or in-game (Either on log-in, or more than likely via The Frog.)

Preview weekend for Factions is March 24-26th.

You can get a login to demo it from a friend with a Guild Wars account (I think they get three inivtes per account) or if you pre-order Factions.

Well my guess is that you should play with a friend that's already playing it. Tjhat way they can guide you through what you could and couldn't do before the stand-along.
I got my invite through a friend that's trying to get me into it. I'll assume he'll walk me through all the stuff.
I'm leaning toward GuildWars because I'm not a fan of paying per month for a game. Neither is my wife (of me paying every month to play a game). To be honest, I'll probably play the beta weekend and then hold off for a couple months. Between work and school I really don't have time to play another game so at best I'll buy it in the summer.

Ok here's the deal with the new classes. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! When used right of corse. My Assassin/Warrior combo took down (on seperate occasion) 3 wars and 3 assassions at the same time. Fighting casters with the assasion tends to be too easy for me with my skill setup. Droping you in one round of 6 skills is no fun, mind you I can do this skill volly continousley.
The beta wasn't all that good for peole who don't like to PvP. Although I personally lean tward the PvP side of the game I also enjoy the PvE aspect of the game. Hopefully this upcomming beta will contain some PvE content for you PvErs.
Hint: If you want to play WoW and not pay find a good cracked server. I'm on one with a custom anticheat. This way you can have all the fun with no extra cost.
GUILDWARS FTW!!!
