NES controller DS case mod

The DS case mods over at 4 color rebellion just keep getting better and better. First they showed us the DS Super Famicom mod and now they're showing off the NES controller DS case mod! Created by a bloke called Hatrix, it features parts from a genuine NES controller. And yes, it appears as if the buttons--with the exception of the D-pad--are pressable (ie. they work, but don't do anything). Case modding just reached new heights of awesome.

We need to start modding everything to make it old-school Nintendo...i want a controller style cellphone to go with my controller belt buckle (http://www.nesbuckle.com/) that goes with my goomba mouse (http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=11&products_id=7143)

Since when did the NES become cool? Back in the day, it was a good console, but the horrible front-loading, annoying Nintendo licensing problems, and flood of bad side-scrollers made the console no better than its competitors at the time. Give me a TG-16 instead of an NES. Better graphics, more stable media, and some cool add-ons (CD anybody?)
Yeah, I liked my NES, but I never loved it like I loved my 2600 VCS.

Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
NES is cool, always has been in the mind's of those that grew up with it. You were a gamer before NES, as you've said in other posts. But for a lot of people, SMB, Dragon Quest, Zelda, Castlevania, Megaman, Metroid, etc, all these game made a generation into gamers.
The problems you listed didn't concern me that much, but even the ones that did (front loader) were offset by the price and huge library of games.
NES isn't the best console ever, it was just my first. And that makes it more important, sentimentally, than any other, more powerful consoles that exists.

I'm all for nostalgic mods (I really like the Super Famicom DS), but you guys need to open your eyes.
This thing is gross!
