It doesn't
take a genius to see that Hudson is now cashing in on Nintendo's massive success with the Brain
Training series. They've just announced a trio (which means "3", I'm told) of Japanese DS puzzle games
slated to hit the system on 23 March at a budget price. Stop me if you've heard this before: A jigsaw puzzle game, a
crossword puzzle game (with handwriting recognition) and a title filled to the brim with Sudoku puzzles. Now, as much as everyone loves jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and Sudoku (which is included in the upcoming Brain Age), splitting them up into separate titles may result in some unwanted and repetitive brain straining. You see, Nintendo's brain game provides a lot of variety in its challenges and makes a good attempt at keeping things fresh. Hopefully Hudson's games will provide tons of different game modes and not just the opportunity to complete a hundred jigsaw puzzles in a row.
That being said, these games do have a clear advantage in the on-screen helper category: The little panda thing doesn't seem nearly as creepy as a floating professor head.
[Thanks Siliconera!]
