Next Generation
had a chance to speak with Shane Kim, General Manager of Microsoft Games Studios about--what else--Halo 3! Kim begins
by playing coy, leading in the ongoing Halo 3 dance. We ask about it, they say it doesn't exist then answer
questions from a theoretical position: "if there were a Halo 3 we would be careful about how we announce
and introduce it." When asked bluntly if it will be released this year, Kim says, "It depends. If it's the game that everyone is expecting then, yes. For us it's about making a proper impact on the platform. It has to be something with huge significance, so we won't be rushed." Hmmm?
He tries to redirect some of the hype onto the heavy hitters in the "second wave" of 360 titles: Crackdown, Too Human, Mass Effect, and of course, Gears of War. Expect to see plenty of these titles, and maybe even the "mythical Halo 3," at this year's E3.
