After so many "He said, she said" statements coming from just about every corner of the internet
besides Sony's, we here at PS3 Fanboy want to be the last place to settle on anything concrete. That's why we tend to
agree with this writer from The Street who believes that all this whispering and speculation is just a bunch of
hogwash. Troy Wolverton brings up some very valid points about the future and what it could mean if Sony's next-gen
platform is indeed delayed (gasp!).The fact of the matter is simple: as long as Sony follows through with what they have promised about delivering the PS3 this year, there isn't too much harm that can come to them. This Christmas is where the action will happen. If the PlayStation 3 is delayed until after the holiday season, then that would give Microsoft another huge leap ahead of Sony in this next-gen "race."
But we already know the Merrill Lynch report was inaccurate in a lot of ways (they didn't even have their totals added up right). And while a spring or summer release is still questionable, if the PS3 can show it's face in 2006 then Sony might not have as hard of a time establishing itself against the competition.
