I think the N64 had better games than the PS1, just not as many.

This thread cracks me up. Why are people trying to defend this? Why are people trying to expand this past what it is. It's one game with horrible load times, a new player will have to experience this to get into a career mode. It's totally rediculous, if this was a console game, it would be awful, but on a portble it's unacceptable. So, we make fun of it, why shouldn't we? Because there are other shitty games, we should give this one a pass? F* that, I applaud this guy for calling this game out when it obviouslyl deserved it. Keep calling out devs, call out MS for it's buggy operating system on the 360, call out nintendo for needing two tries to get the DS design right. As long as we keep giving these companies a pass we'll keep getting subpar software.

"Well, I just overclock the PSP to 333mhz then it is much faster for load times."

No... no you didn't. CPU speed and load times are not related.

Well, it's a wrestling game. The load screens are probably a lot more fun than the game anwyay.

Look, I just ran this "comparison" side by side with my game, and I got there in 4:28. This video is made biased, and selecting a Smackdown Superstar, it had a PROLOGUE, that doubles the loading time. If you want to get in quickly and play, most of the time the PSP will go straight to the menu if the game was last played and the PSP is in standby, and if I was in a situation where I wanted to play a quick game of Smackdown, I wouldnt go to the season mode. Usually, scince SD is USUALLY on in standby, if I was playing the game, id be in a Exhibition match in about 30s to 1m.

We should record AC:WW's loading times [longest for a DS game, or any cartrige game in general] against this. Oddly enough, the AC:WW engine itself doesnt take long to load - it's the saves! If you dont believe me, note how the first time you save it takes a lot longer than normal: it's writing the entire town out to cartridge memory.

same here.. it was only about 25 seconds or so, but at least w AC, they're doing a lot, they're updating an online world and all the stuff that had happened since you last played...

it's understandable

I've got it, it's an excellent game. The loading times are only that hideous if you do a created championship match between two created wrestlers with created entrances. The game runs smoothly throughout the match afterwards anyway, but if you stick with the wrestlers on offer, the load times are considerably better.

Yeah, AC:WW does take long to save (freakin' what, 1 and a half minutes? No skin off my bones, doesn't mean I can't FOLD UP MY SYSTEM and HIDE IT IN MY POCKET WHILE IT SAVES so my teacher can't tell I'm playing DS in class), but it takes about the same amount of time to boot to menu.

I can't imagine the save times on this game. That's why I don't have a PSP. Games all take long to even boot up on that system. It's a brick, that's all it's good for. Especially now that the DS does wi-fi and browses the internet (using a superior browser with better features, may I add.).

My God, there are some remarkably retarded comments on this forum. This is one fucking game that has horrible load times! It in no way reflects the quality of the PSP as a system. It's like using Dragon Booster (this game has poor touch-screen response, so the DS must have a poor touch screen!) or King Kong (this is the worst multi-console game! So the DS must be the worst of the consoles!) to gauge the quality of the DS as a whole.

I'm so fucking sick of you fanboys. Brainless sheep who have to inflate their own egos and justify their purchases by bashing what they can't have. If you can't afford both, fine, but don't go around flaunting your sour grapes on forums hoping people will give a shit about your opinion. It's people like you (and the pirates) who are the biggest problem in gaming today.

I have a DS, I have a PSP. I like them both.

I get more gameplay hours out of my DS simply because there are a larger amount of innovative games for it. The PSP is a gorgeous system with almost no drawbacks other than minor ghosting. The loadtimes, dead pixels, and battery problems are greatly exaggerated. Its handful of great (GREAT) games definately make it worth owning. If I had to pick one, it would be an extremely tough choice, although the PSP tends to stick with me more often these days, if only for its multimedia functions.

So you're thinking "Who is this guy and why should I give a fuck?" Well, don't. I don't care what you think because anyone who strongly disagrees with my statement probably falls into the "brainless sheep" category stated above. To them, please get back to working on your bullshit websites with your skewed statistics as to why not to buy a PSP. To everyone else, I hope you'll preach the word and keep an open mind and just enjoy the game. Hopefully that's most of you.

Oh yeah, and just so you know, Nintendo pays my bills.

*ha*ha*ha*ha*!!! Yeah, I'm sure with those load times PSP will undoubtedly spell the demise of DS. That could be PSP's new innovation to the gaming world. An entire game comprised entirely of load times! Oh wait, that was "Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex" I love the Benny Hill Theme. But Tom Petty's "Waiting Is The Hardest Part" would've been so much better.

I could finish up Ganon from Zelda LttP on my GBA and watch the whole credits while the video was playing.
Oh you know what, that little square has 15 hours of battery. ;D I can totally finish that classic game at 100% without closing it. :O :O :O

Then someone might argue about not being able to watch movies, listen to mp3, stuff like that.
EXCUSE ME, YOU CAN'T WATCH A FULL MOVIE EITHER IF YOUR BATTERY DOESNT MAKE IT, HELLO!!!1eleventy-one!!

But seriously, i'm a big Anti-Nintendo guy most of the time when consoles fight come up (the Gamecube and Nintendo 64 being my least favorite consoles) but now...oh god...Sony created a monster using THQ craptacular coders. Poo poo Sony, those 400 PS1 games I own is a proof that you once have been good at making something. (story mind you, not GFX)

The PSP CPU is clocked at 222mhz bus speed 111mhz at default by SOny to consume battery life. So the majority are stuck with this speed unless you use a tool to speed it up. Fastloader is one of them wihich is used to play iso. files (ehh, I read it somewhere 'wink') You can press select to change the speed from 'default' to 'mid' CPU 266mhz BUS 133mhz, or to 'fastest' CPU 333mhz BUS 166mhz, which is faster than the PS2 CPU speed of 295 or 296mhz (correct me if I'm wrong). Set the PSP to fastest and you will see a huge difference in loading times. Some games seem to have more improvement than others, so I wouldn't know how much faster WWE smackdown vs raw loading times would be, hopefuly the same as on PS2 version.
The game is crap anyway with pr without the loading times. WWE is losing its popularity while TNA is getting more popular, and the game is the same as previous WWE games that I got bored of.

A new video has been posted on Youtube - making even more fun of the WWE video.

It compares the original video to a new one made with another PSP Game showing the load times PSP is possible of when the game is not a PS2 port!

The number of times I had to listen to the Benny Hill theme loop was absolutely sickening. Jeez. Mix it up a bit or play the song very slooooowly so it only goes through once. :/

The video itself was pretty neat. I liked the text commentary.
