Joystiq Poll: Best day for gaming

I am inclined to say weekends (Fri/Sat) are the best. But to joystiq readers isn't any day good?

The best day is anytime I have time.

Just seeing Robert Smith reminds me of all those days of longing, back in high school (or was it Junior High?), singing along with "Pictures of You" and dreaming of Sherry and Shelly Thompson -- identical twins that I had such a crush on I could hardly stand it. Years later I found out that Shelly wanted to date me, but thought I didn't like her, because I didn't ever "make a move." Sadly, she was engaged when I made that discovery. I thought about killing her fiancee, but decided that would put a damper on our romance. Thanks, Joystiq -- you've put me in the wayback machine and made me miserable. It still makes me sick that song ended up in an ad for Kodak, or something. Way to sell off my memories, Cure music publishing people.

What was this thread about again? Oh yes, video games. The best weekday to game is Wednesday, because that's the day I've been meeting up with friends and playing Mario Kart on the DS. And Friday is too busy to game, because Friday I'm in love.

Any weekday is fine to me to keep my entertrainment. I go out and hang around on weekend.

I def play more on Friday... classes end at 11 in the morning for me Fridays, the rest of the day is spent playing guitar, playing videogames, and drinking.

It's true for me too. Whenever I have time is a good time. Having said that, at this point, most of my time is free for the weekends. I find that, for most people I know, friday is the "going out" day. You know, you've had a busy week, your off for the weekend, let's party. And I find that Saturday is more of a "kick back on the couch" type of day. The relaxing day. So I chose Saturday.

I voted Sunday as the best day, I'm usually out on fridays and saturdays, weekdays are generally attached to various activities (sports, night out with gf) , but nothing ever happens on sundays, so thats when I'm guaranteed to have time to play.

Very few people work sundays too, so me and my buddies can usually all get together online for a fragfest. whereas any other day and at least half of them would have something that they can't miss.

Generally speaking, Sunday is the best day of the week to game.

I work a normal 9-5 day infront of the computer all week, last thing I want to do after that is jump back on the computer when I get home.

not only that but weekdays usually have sports/nights out with gf/ or Prime time TV (if im feeling lazy).

Fridays and Sat's im usually out. Party nights.

Sunday im usually a little hungover, so thats the best time to game, I know I wont be leaving the house, and next to nobody works sundays, so I can usually meet up with buddies online for a nice few hour long fragfest.

there are few sports that happen on sundays and most people don't work seeing as almost all stores are closed.

Why does the poll say "Best weekday for gaming" and include the weekend?

did I ever tell you I HATE the way comments are posted? why's it so damned slow, and what happend to the "you did it" yellow box? my comments field went blank and the email took a while to get here on my first message.

Any day is good for me, but I'mm too busy with work on weekdays, and my comic and house stuff on Saturdays, which leaves me Sunday to do most of my gaming. Saturday evenings are usually good too.

My weekends are usually packed, but when Monday rolls around, after a long crappy day at work, it's the perfect time to blow up some shiz or beat up bad guys.

#14- Absolutely. Monday is the lowest point of the week. Always nice to go home and get a few headshots to relieve the tension.

I agree those above that Sunday is a good time as well, though I normally feel guilty about what I see as wasting a weekend in front of my TV if I play for more than an hour or so.*

This is a bad poll. The correct answer of course is "Every Day" but that is not an option, and therefore the poll cannot be answered correctly.

I'm going to wait this one out and not answer because I've heard that Sony and Microsoft are secretly battling over the rights to add an entirely new day based entirely on video games to the current 7-day week. The day will come complete with in-game advertising and "rootkit/DRM free zones" or Moutain Dew giveaways, depending on which vendor wins.

Work 8am - 8pm monday through friday.
Sunday i sleep all day and watch tv
Saturday play games till about 8 pm then go party all night (hence the sleep all day sunday)

wow, that Cure referrence was so obscure, for a gaming journal, it almost counts for originality lol. To be honest, i havent had a good day to for gaming due to being busy with school and working on a few small 5 - 15 minute movies, despite getting a ds for christmas. Although, MGS3: Subsistience and Kingdom HEarts 2 are coming in a few weeks, so I'm guessing tuesday and thursday since I don't have classes.

oh great, now I have the basslines from Disitegration pounding in my head. Now I have to go listen to it for like the millionth time.

I said Friday just because for 9-5ers like me it's a great feeling coming home Friday night completely unafraid to get all wrapped up in that new RTS without worrying about what time you have to get up the next morning. Sunday's great too when you have the whole day to yourself and you're still nursing a buzz from the night before. Makes it a close second for me. You just don't wake up with that same relief you leave the office with.

I voted Sunday because "Everyday is like Sunday".. at least according to Morrissey.

Since 2000, my fianc?nd our friends get together every Friday to game and unwind. From MvC2 to Metal Arms to Kung Fu Chaos, there really isn't much we don't play (except maybe for sports titles). We game, we eat, we talk trash and kick each other's asses. It's the one day of the week we all look forward to.

i voted sunday.. i generally have classes, work, and other things to deal with on the weekdays and i generally work all through the weekend too.. but i'm scheduled in the morning on sunday more than any other day, so i have the rest of the day (if i have nothing else to get done) to kick back and play some madden or something.

also, i feel like sunday is the best day for any entertainment leisure activity. on friday and saturday you want to socialize in your free time.. on sunday all you have to do is to kick back and welcome in the new week.

For me, it has to be Thursday. See, on Thursday, my weekly column has gone up, I'm least likely to be doing other writing, and my weekends are about equally split between gaming and being social with my wife, my friends, her friends, and random people I run into.
