At least it isn't another fantasy/orc/dwarf/elf MMO...I'm so getting tired of that theme now.

Same here, Elves and dwarves are over-played. Bots looks pretty cool, though. I really haven't like any MMO game to date, but I'm signing up for this one!

I agree, this is definitely not Turok. That was a different time, different place and a great game. We're really trying to create a new way to acquire, consume and enjoy games. There's a lot of baggage, good and bad, by being Acclaim but we really have faith that this brand can have a second life. We're starting with BOTS and we're passionate about shaking things up with this new model.

An Aclaim Franchise that might work for an MMOG would be Star Control.

does anyone realize that this site follows the generic korean MMORPG layout? Crazy action up top, with the SAME menu system as every other korean MMORPG?

Acclaim ,AKLM, AKLMQ, IDEAS! (7:59am EST Wed Mar 01 2006)
a better presented site would be good, then I wish to the new Acclaim staff all the best in this new adventure sure it will go well.I would suggest they provide us with few great quality games and not a huge quantity of crappy ones. Some news regarding the business/trading market, if there's one, would be highly appreciated from the adult public that silently plays games released for...kids but it's fun anyway. Is the symbol always aklm? Are them coming on the nasdaq? When? Will you put on line some first person shooter game? The caracters we'll shot at will they be the old Acclaim staff? Sounds a pretty cool idea and you'll rise lots of clients!!!! - by whatever

I noticed the exact same thing. Even the other game, Dragon9, sports the standard Korean art style.

This is going to bite the re-formed Acclaim in the rear. Everyone and their mother is outsourcing MMORPG development to Korean firms these days so there is little differentiation between the titles. I got sick of Ragnarok and Rose Online real quick, so what makes these guys think I am going to play the same game again with an art change?

Going the Korean development route may be cheaper, but that hardly matters if it gets to the point where no one wants to play them. Titles like these are regressing the MMORPG genre as a whole, and as publishers move more to outsourcing to these guys who have shown no gameplay creativity, we as RPG fans may just have to accept that the MMORPG genre is dead in the water.

I would like to remember everyone that this is a new Acclaim so forget about old games and titles, here are coming new ideas, new games and especially the dishonest people running it before has been well adjust in court and I'm sure they're having a hell of time in their private lives as sinking in that way has echos in all spheres of life. Am I wrong or during the court proceedings someone lost the nerve, think how he could feel.Well in life you always have back what you have sown, so that is the result, going mad. Don't be greedy new Acclaim staff and you'll achive your goals!

My 2 cents: The MMORPG genre got stale long before the Korean games came on board. But truth be told, there has been little innovation in MMORPGs, period. Warcraft enjoys success because it's perfected the current fight/heal/cast/grind as elf formula. It's just too risky to do anything else (if you're a HUGE publisher).

That's where this new influx of content comes in (and yes, most of that is Korean right now, their culture is so far ahead of us in terms of interactive entertainemnt). Yes, some of the new games will suck. But what if just enough of them change the playing field?

MMO games need to shift. As the general public starts getting into games, the current content will not support these people. Let's think long term here, do we want to drive people away or set up an industry where almost everyone will find something they enjoy? The latter is one of my goals.
