The icing on the cake would be if he could actually use the NES controllers connected to the NES controller slots to play that NES emulator :p

The only problem there being the lack of the Slot loading drive. That would have sold it for me. would have been asking this guy to make me one XD

Read the article: "As for the controller ports, i found a circuit to enable me to plug in any NES peripheral and use it in emulators. I just have yet to purchase and install it." Seems like that's on its way.

Thank you for sharing this. I only wish I had this time, talent, and the necessary funds. I would love to own this machine, but I think that's true of anyone that sees it. Awesome.

Sweet! The only thing that kinda ruins this is the fact that it's a Mac. Although, it fits sorta well with the NES: no multitasking!

Um.. yeah Spencer, the Mac OS has had preemptive multitasking for the past five or so years.. If you're going to bash the Mac at least do it from the right millenium.

Spencer - Macs had multitasking in OS 8 and preemptive multitasking since the debut of OS X seven years ago.

Catch up with the rest of the class.

as long as you use a mini mobo you can use a PC in there, I sent in a news tip yesterday for one that (i found out later) was 2 years old, was using an external (Brick) power supply, looked quite good, had slot loading DVD, 2.5 inch HDD, and the original NES A/V cables, replaced the white connector in the back with S-Video, and had USB 2.0 and firewire where the plastic thing is next to the game tray.

looked really sweet. but he couldnt get the power button to work, reset and power were kinda switched.

I'm a bit puzzled, why IDE to USB adaptor? Can't the DVD writer be hooked onto the internal port of the original Internal drive?

As for the Mac bashers, grow up.
