IGN reports that Spore, Will Wright's next astounding feat of time-suckage and veritable successor to his Sim line of games, just might turn up on a handheld. What that handheld is hasn't been revealed as of yet, but it appears that Electronic Arts is clearly looking to hire staff that will be in charge of interpreting the PC game within the portable universe.
We're inclined to think that this may not be a direct port of Spore, mostly because the game's proposed scope may not translate well on the more limited hardware of any of today's current handheld leaders, but the idea of a game extension that may add value to the main game definitely piques our interest. Of course, there's still the question of how the potential handheld version may interact with the PC-only title, which then leads us to think this may be a spin-off title altogether.
