Will Wright narrates SPORE gameplay video
Sure, it's nearly a year late in making its way onto the internet, but Will Wright's SPORE presentation from last year's GDC, titled "The Future of Content", is now available on Google video. Will Wright narrates the entire 36 minute video, discussing things like mating, Care Bears, and the finer points of procedural synthesis, so watch it already!

UPDATE: Commenter bob correctly notes that the video has been available on the GDCTV website, although registration is required. Consider this the first time it's been available to those who are afflicted with web-registration paranoia.

what do you mean, it's been on the internet since shortly after last year's GDC took place. http://www.pqhp.com/cmp/gdctv/

If there were ever a game to piss off the [ed: Godwin's Law provocation], this is it.
I think it looks terrific.

Erm... this has been available for everyone on the GDC site since almost a year ago.
Chris @ Mar 2nd 2006 3:35PM
Am I the only one who eventually got tired of hearing Wright say "Um" every 2nd or 3rd word?
jaemz @ Mar 2nd 2006 3:40PM
Will Wright 'procedurally' kicks butt. I can't wait to try this in person.
Adam Blinkinsop @ Mar 2nd 2006 3:51PM
Note that the GDCTV video has an intro that makes up about half of the final video length. I hope someone puts up the entire thing.

Knowing Will Wright, the first spore expansion will come out before the game actually does.
Spore: Bacterial House Party
Spore: Hot Date on Murcury
Spore: Galactic University
Dear God, please make him stop!

Hopefully Will Wright never stops.
This is leaps and bounds, looks like endless fun to me.
Chubbs @ Mar 2nd 2006 4:42PM
Yes, I agree, the video and the game is amazing. I can't wait to play. I hope someone puts the whole video up, it seems amazing.
Chris @ Mar 2nd 2006 4:57PM

he forgot one thing, parallel universes. you should be able to zoom out even further and see your universe in something like a snowglobe, then see that snowglobe sitting on a desk, with a collection of snowglobes.
Hamson @ Mar 2nd 2006 8:08PM
That was... Wow- Just WOW. Amazing. We need more genre bending games in this industry. That looks really fun.
Will Wright's a funny guy.

If I had a nickle for every time he said "Um" I'd have a SHITLOAD of nickles.
Mojo @ Mar 3rd 2006 1:32AM
Ums aside, I have to say I've heard a lot about this game but that video was a serious head trip. I am so impressed that I don't even care about his ums.
gigbutt @ Mar 3rd 2006 8:20AM
I can't wait for the release. Anyone seen a projected release date?
Gareth @ Mar 3rd 2006 10:09AM
Um, I wish I got um, about a pound for every time he said um. I'd be um, very rich by um, now.
Coyote @ Mar 3rd 2006 1:51PM
According to gamefaqs the itll be out Q3 this year, Im guessing itll have delays like every other game I want so spring-summer 2007 is my guess.
Also I wasnt really impressed at first thinking that theres no way it could have everything Will was touting... but WOW this is now on my must get game list! When he zooms out the first time was amazing and by the time he goes all galactic I was in to much shock to even register it.
funkonaut @ Mar 5th 2006 11:15AM
This needs to come out on the Revolution. I can't wait to point-and-click my way to planetary destruction on my 30" LCD TV.

Hey!!! my friend is on the Spore team and he says the game would rock. According to him, this game would "change the way people perceive games". Also the game is near completion, but he wasn't ready to divulge on the release date. Lets c whats in store.
mirza @ Mar 18th 2006 9:04AM
