When a developer needs to add a "grungification" feature to its engine because the game looks too damn pretty, you know the next generation of deathmatch is here. GameDaily has an in-depth look at the environments, vehicles, and weapons of Epic's Unreal Tournament 2007. Onslaught mode returns in this edition and they've added a new similar mode called Conquest. A Q4 release date is expected, along with some hefty hardware requirements.

But don't get me wrong...I still think UT 2007 will bring graphics and gameplay the likes of which we haven't seen before. And I'm still going to run over my grandmother (if she gets in my way) to get UT 2007 when it comes out.

I don't even want to know the PC requirements.

I bet the minimum requirements are like:
3Ghz CPU
1GB RAM
256MB ATI X800 or nVidia Geforce 6800 or better
all that just to be able to run the game at like 800x600. Which is poop. Looks like I'm gonna have to pickup a new motherboard, an AMD64x2, an ATIX1900XT and another GB stick of RAM for this one. My Athlon 2400+ probably aint gonna cut it anymore.

Amen dsub.
I feel you. I can only hope 1gig ram is enough, and my 6600 geforce makes the cut.
athlon 64 3.2 ghz processor should be enough

However.. I will have to wait and see just what this brings to the table other than jazzy graphics. I'm kinda burned out after the utk3/2k4 thing as a mapper AND a player.

When this eventually comes out the PC and PS versions will probally be very different in gameplay
and graphics.

In some ways games like this are necessary to keep ATI and Nvidia from pushing "marginal improvement" cards on us.

Anyways...I just PRAY that the Level Editor actually WORKS this time around b/c the previous one had so many damn bugs in it. I've got a friend @ Midway using the engine and according to him it is A LOT easier to use and is much more stable...even in its unfinished form.

Clearly the final version will be tweaked quite a bit and not require 4 to provide graphical prOn.

Holy hell. 3.2 GHz Athlon?! Those don't exist yet... unless you overclock a FX-60 or an Opteron or something...
Here's what I think the minimum specs will be:
3.2 GHz Intel P4 / Athlon 3500+
1GB of RAM
nVidia GeForce 6800GS / ATi Radeon X800XL
7.5GB of free hard drive space
