For role-playing times, make it Suntory time
12
Alright thirsty JRPG'ers, Suntory's official Final Fantasy XII Potion beverage is finally available in Japan as of today! The commercial promises it will replenish valuable hit points lost in battle and--seeing as how FFXII is still a ways off--watching people fight for Potion might be the only FFXII battle we get for awhile.
[Thanks, Jago; via digg]
[UPDATE: Updated to better reflect that western gamers will be waiting awhile, while lucky Japanese gamers will be drinking their Potion and playing FFXII next week. Thanks, djSyndrome.]

Um, it comes out next week in Japan. The Potion release is timed to coincide with the game's release, like most game tie-ins.

WTF is this. The 2 in the comercial start battleing and they are taking like 3000+ hp out each hit, then they drink the potion and only gain 100 Hp. this means you need to but like 30+ of these drinks. What a waste of money. They need to make a more powerful drink.

Um...those two are still down 3000 HP.
They should X-Potions if I'm spending real world cash on them.

Sorry Jago, really didn't see it! It didn't have a title, so it got got chewed by by my email client's thread management system. Why nobody grabbed this yesterday is beyond me, it's gold!
Nice catch 007craft, you'd think they'd at least heal them all the way up in the commercial! That's some dubious marketing.

My relatives send me food every now and then from Japan. Sometimes they'll even send it with a bottle of ramune (don't know why, I can get it here). I'll have to see if they can send me a bottle of that.

Smart of you to consult Bill Murray for the headline. :)
...If only they'd have been clever enough to market the product with Scarlet Johansen's panties in the commercial.

Wonder what they taste like. Another version of ramune, maybe?
PS - djSyndrome, they meant "a ways off" for US gamers.
