Why would you want to do this? The original XBox headset was as uncomfortable as hell.

WTF is with the 360 headset complaints today. I don't agree with the so-called problems. As the previous commenters, I didn't like the old headset at all.

Anyway, if you are going to HACK this, why not make it FUNCTIONAL? Don't cut up your old Xbox headset, cut up your old communicator, or get a 1/8" (?) female jack. JB Weld it in there and solder it to the board. Then guess what? You just made a communicator for your 360 controller so you can use ANY headset. If I didn't like the 360 headset or if I broke it, I'd do this in a second. Maybe I'll do it anyway. Think I'll search ebay for a broken 360 headset for under $10.

You do know there are 'mute' and 'volume' controls if you hit the guide button, right? you can already use any headset you want... (with a small hassel)
