The original XBOX is MUCH better than PS2. Sony realizes this and sees that the PS3 cannot compete with the XBOX 360 just yet. It will take them some more tweaking and research, before they are ready to even try to play on the same field with Microsoft. Anyone who owns an XBOX or XBOX 360, knows exactly what I am talking about. I own an XBOX, GameCube and a PS2....I have not played my PS2 in over 6 months.

the only reason ps3 is taking so long is that at last years E3, they showed videos that were pre-rendered. And when 360's videos were all real-time, sony got spooked. So now Sony had to back up the talk and beef up the ps3 to match the graphics of the pre-rendered. I always buy all the systems, sony is over-confident, and now they are sweating. They cannot afford to have 360 to have 2 Holiday seasons before they even release the system. I cant wait for the system, but they are really showing how over-confident they are.

I do admit to being a sony fanboy. But I have a logical reason for it. I've never had a problem with any sony product. If I buy another companies item, i later when the item stops working within 6-12 months i regret not getting a sony. I learned my lesson long ago. I also bought the Ps2 on release date. It was the one they said had all the problems, they recalled it...I still have it. It runs very well (taking consideration for how many hours i've played, its been dropped etc), it playes every game out there for the ps2 even the ones that they said it wouldnt. I have never had a problem with it. For games i will stick with sony and nintendo. They have the games that I want to play, xbox does not. I buy they system for the games ( the great specs not a bad bonus).
I try not to use microsoft products if possible. Their systems crash, there is always something wrong, slow, etc. Xbox and 360 dont have any games (beside maybe dead or alive) that i want to play. I will not pay 400 dollars for 1 game.
The Ps3 will be atleast 2.5 times more powerful than the 360. The blue-ray disk can hold atleast 53.4 gigs where hd disks can only hold 43 gigs at most 47 gigs. Blue-ray gives developers more room, freedom with out worring about how much room they are taking. Consider: If you would buy the cheapest blue-ray disk player it would cost 1,800 dollars. Buy Ps3 400-600 dollars. Hmmm, no brainer. You are geting the blue-ray plus a game system. Blue-ray is the better format. Games and consoles will be better now and greater in the furture if Blue-ray succeeds.
I can wait for the Ps3 (though i am aching for it), that means they can work out the bugs, make sure of good supply, the developers have more time to make games. They have already given developers the kits needed to make games. I've seen the some of the launch games. They look great.
The only thing xbox 360 have going for it is the internal memory (which the cell processor of the ps3 makes moot) and Halo. I couldnt care less about halo. I played it, found it boring, and its not a game i want to play or own. So xbox 360 would be a waste of money. Buy a system for the ones that are completely backwards compatable (ps3...99 percent, xbox 360...50-85 percent), the games you want to play, and if the one you pick happens to have the best spec (ps3) so be it. Oh, they are going to include a hdd.

Like #45, I am a gamer--NOT a system fan. I like to play good games period, regardless of what system they are on. I was sad to see Sega leave the hardware business and hope that Nintendo doesn't leave it if they end up in last place again during this next console generation. But the one thing I would absolutely LOVE to see go is blatent, idiotic fanboyism. Fanboyism is the third lowest form of life, beating only by murderers and politicians. If you love your system--fine, but you don't have to bash the systems you don't have because of it. All this does is two things: make you look like an ass-clown and gives the video game industry an even worse public image.

I would have to admit I am probably a Sony Fanboy. I buy their crap every time they come out with something new. However, the glitches that are in the Playstation 1 and 2 really take the fun out of gaming. You sit down to play and the system won't boot or quits in the middle of a game. I'm glad PS3 is not ready. I can hold on to my money a little longer

Ok, I don't know if there are any girls on here, but here is a girls opinion. I have PS2, XBOX (not 360, because it is damn near impossible to get), and Gamecube. I love all of the systems, but I have to say that Xbox and PS have never come up with an original game. Gameube started Donkey Konga (wich is hillarious when you have two or three people and you are all drunk!!!) and a few others ... I love my Xbox and PS2, but the prices just keep going up, and acording to all the news I have read, the new stuff pales in comparison to the good old days ... so with that said ... Anyone got an Atari?? Those were always fun!

Why is everyone arguing about how much they love their Xbox. They aren't even saying anything true. #49 says that at E3 '05 all of the PS3 stuff was pre-rendered but they actually went into the Fight Night game, they rotated the camera. They couldn't do this if it was pre-rendered. Also, #49 says "The original XBOX is MUCH better than PS2" but this is not true either. I will give him that the PS2 is a little worse but look at all the game reviews for each system. If there is a difference it's always not enough to choose one game over another. #49 even says that the PS3 can't compete with the Xbox360. If this is true, then is it that the PS3 is twice as powerful. An accurate analogy would be saying that the Ferrari Enzo was delayed because it can't compete with the Corvette Z06. Anyone who did their research will see that lie 100 miles away. Also, #48 two things: u shuld gou to skool because u can't spell. Also, if you don't like listening to arguments about the PS3 then why are you here reading them.

Heh well all you people who are worried about the release date or paying too much or taking risks you could always wait untill all three next-gen systems (MS SONY AND NINTENDO) are like $50 - $100 new or used and all the dust has settled around the games and they're making 2nd and 3rd sequels to the games that came out at launch? or is that just for losers like me?
