to #'s 10, 19, 24, 33, 43, and any others I missed:

just stop it.

you don't have to rain on everyones parade. let people have fun and be wishful. naming a game that doesnt exist or whatever doesnt matter. who cares if the games don't exist? this is an informal newsblog, people read it for fun. you shouldnt be trying to make rules for people to follow. if we all had to follow rules about what to post, how many people would want to come here and share in the discussions? I know I wouldn't.

If I had $2500 laying around (yeah right) that I had to spend on a video game, it would have to be the unreleased arcade sequel to Marble Madness: Marble Man. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8619

As someone else already said - N64 RE 0, RE 1.5 and RE 3.5. But I'll also add on RE for the GameBoy Color, as I always had a curious interest in it.

I'd choke a public official to get a modern remake of EA's "Mail Order Monsters" with online support.

I'd also really love an updated version of "Outlaws" by LucasArts, with Clint Bajakian's music and everything. While there have been many western themed games of late, none has mastered the Spaghetti Western like "Outlaws" did.

And as a bonus, they could throw in an update of "Law of the West" for us old-school gamers.

I would give anything to play Sam and Max: Freelance Police. I mean, at least we're getting a sequel from Telltale, but that doesn't mean I still don't want to play Freelance Police.

I like the dollar. When I first see a price in $$$'s I think "oh thats a lot" before using my currency convertor widget. £1,439. I've spent more than that on a whim. multiply it by 10 then you might have a mad number.

Zelda III even though it doesn't really exist. but if there was another NES Zelda I'd be pretty chuffed.

To number 10 - 24 - 33 and others :

(# 10) The running ? There is no running, everybody is free to say whatever they want, cancelled game or not, who are you to make up rules.

Like, seriously Chris (# 24) we do not care what "they" or you for that account mean (whoever they are) because we are thinking beings and if we all suddenly decide to start talking about games that are still in production or whatnot, that is how it's gonna be, so.... do you even have an IQ ?

Same to #33 and #43 and to all others who come here to judge instead of having a good time...

you know less than you want to know. - Oscar Wilde

To # 50 stop it, just stop it. There are many reasons to stay on topic.

Personally I would pay $$ for the almost finished fallout 3 (vanbruerin) , not the upcoming fallout3 from bethesda. I want more oldschool fallout!!

Anon - I - mousse: Top .5 percentile, thanks for asking :)

I prefer to read threads that stick to the topic at hand. That was the motivation for most of our gripes.

My unreleased game is Cali 2095 (I may have the year in the title off, it was many moons ago back in the Dark Forces era). Lucas Arts had that advertised for a while as being a "FPS with puzzles" set on California after "the big quake" that split them from the main continent.

#62 and #63..fine, stay on topic. it seems like we've all been doing that. the question posted in the original posting is exactly as follows:

"Would you pay $2500 for an unreleased game? If so, which one?"

an unreleased game. it doesnt say "Would you pay $2500 for an unreleased game that was scheduled to be released, and then cancelled? If so, which one?"

somebody mentioned copy protection for this game. I had been following this for awhile before, and the forum people said since this is a prototype, there is no security ring. you can just copy it. however, you need a sega saturn game with the security ring to play it.

I'd pay $2500 for zelda III definitly.

I would never pay that much for a game even if it was unreleased. I did pay $350 for a Ratchet & Clank statue that they gave out to their employees on the box it said #34 of 250 so that is neat. Also after reading the post in the link the seller said he was in charge of destroying the disc so if he kept one who is to say he did now keep a couple of other copies. I just don't trust things like this because chances are if it can be copied their is more than one of them out there.

I've played a ROM that claimed to be Starfox 2. It was just one level ong though. And it seemed like just a tweaked version of the first level of the first game though.

I'd choke a public official (great line ZeroCorpse!) to play the E3 2003 single player Halo 2 demo. Hell, I'd go streaking, in zero degree weather, after having just gone swimming, on the field at the World Cup final to play that demo.
