Hot on the heels (no pun intended) of yesterday's Ultra-Mobile PC announcement,
CeBIT 2006 is showcasing a 5.46 GHz PC from Kingston Technology and Western Digital. And unless your name is Iceman,
you'll need some serious cooling power. The overclocked 3.8 GHz Pentium 4 system is using technologies such as
VapoChill and WaterChill to keep things icy, as well as Kingston's HyperX RAM. This should solve all your framerate
problems.

It is probably still out-performed by AMDs. Meh...

It looks pretty impressive, until they actually try to do anything on it and it hardlocks.

Multi-core processors are the future. Not these these overheated single core cpu's.

That's fairly impressive on paper, but would it actually make a noticeable difference in practice? For games etc I can get smooth performance and pretty pictures out of a Athlon 64 3500, for about £100 and a bare minimum of hassle. Anyway, it's the graphic card that counts the most (I've got a 7800GT).
I don't really understand what drives people to do this, sure the numbers are pretty cool and it gives those companies publicity but it's not exactly helping anyone :S

"I don't really understand what drives people to do this..."
"..it gives those companies publicity"
A question and its answer in the same sentence - clever!
