PlayStation 3 in Tokyo tomorrow, Sony confirms

well I know every thing about the 360 b/c I play the sistem and I have it what about ps3 they have not show any thing yet come on you guys I know you like the ps2 and every thing but let me tell u some thing the ps2 was not a good sistem it got good games and every thing but that's it we need to be happy for the xbox b/c the good competition that they had, no every body likes to play rpg games, or mario games some people want it to play fps shooting games too and that's where xbox came out pc like games yeap but come on no everybody like to play with a keyword some pleople just like to have a good console you know what a mean and ps2 did not deliver that.

I'm not concerned about that at all, and I wouldn't feel stupid for my purchase. The Xbox and its supporting employees provide a great community that revolves around having fun. Not to mention the 360 has some great features and has several great titles so far. It's the best gaming machine in my living room and surpassed my expectations (beating out the laptop, GC, PS2, and Xbox...but that should be a given).

I'm mostly just annoyed that Sony is playing mind games with the consumers again, and that they are pulling the same BS hype game that they did with the PS2. I am excited to see some of the games that will be on the PS3, but not so excited to be let-down again with their ridiculous hype about the hardware. Proceding with caution is everyone's best bet.

For me, the lack of information has given me little reason to want a PS3 yet. From what I do know:

*Bluray and HD-DVD's AACS is not consumer friendly. This format war is likely to be a wash. You get a betaray drive with the PS3 whether you want it or not. If it would save me $200 off the price, then please exclude it.

*The Cell processor seems like it would be best for networking hardware (servers in particular), but not necessarily gaming hardware. If they try to save money by making the Cell processor do work for other internal hardware (that should have stand alone processors), hopefully it doesn't affect performance overall negatively.

*They are still using the dualshock design for the controllers, which needed to change long ago.

*Developers admit that 1080p isn't a realistic resolution for efficiency, and that for the most part, they'll stick with 720p.

However, so far, I like that Sony shied away from being super-proprietary for one second and allowed the use of flash cards. I'm glad they are supporting bluetooth. I really want to try dual screens (assuming they keep the feature). If they can provide an online service that is worthwhile, then I'm game (but I've never seen a decent interface from Sony).

They just make it very difficult to not be skeptical.

Playstion fans, ATTENTION ATTENTION!!. Lets get the facts straight. During the playstion N64 vs PS1 fight, who had the quality games!!! Yes, you know it the N64, Nobody forgets Mario 64 and Goldeneye. In the Xbox vs Playstation 2 war, who had the better games? Yes Xbox absolutley smoked PS2 in graphics. Every game Sony did , Xbox did better. No comparison. Its actually kinda funny when Xbox had a game that wasn't that good in graphics, we would say the graphics look a little PS2ish.

Yeah no comparison here, the 360 will dominate this time around. It has an amazing lead already over 30 games ready to go . GHOST RECON ADVANCED WAR FIGHTER!! Have you seen this game? Oblivion ?? have you seen the screens and video for that game.

Microsoft believes in quality over quantity. Playstation makes any game from any developer. The quality isn't there.

Oh and by the way 1080P?? Who cares? Everyone has already gone out and forked out big $$ for a 720p/1080i tv.Why would we shell out more money for a tv that is 1080P?

Also when all is said and done the ps3 and the 1080p tv will cost a fortune.

I think it's funny that people consider the PS3 to be the biggest disappointment of 2006, even though it hasn't hit shelves yet.

Likewise, I laugh at all the 360 fanboys who tell me that I need to buy it to play one or two stinking games.

Is this all it takes to get you muppets to part with $400 of hard-earned ca$hola? The truth is that most of you believe hype of some kind. That's why more sequels to crappy games sell than actual original titles. That's why a bunch of people stood out in the cold for 12 hours or more just to play King Kong and Kameo. C'mon guys. You're playing the marketing game exactly how they want you to, so stop whining and start squealing.

Oh, and the Revolution... I don't think it's aptly named. Sounds like fun, but it had better not be a penny over 250 bucks. And it won't truly be revolutionary, unless there's some really original software coming in 2007. Franchises aren't enough to sell me anymore. These companies have a LOT of work to do to sell to the 25-and-up crowd. I don't know anyone yet that has a 360, or plans to buy PS3 on launch.

Who ever thinks the ps3 is going to be great should be or already is a blonde because every one knows that the graphics for it are going to be the same a the gamecube. And that's because the Revolution hasn't really showed any screenshots of actual gameplay. Thankyou Nintendo! Now all Nintendo has to do is stregnthen up the anti- and bam! We shall remain the best graphical system ever!!! And if EA does sign up with the revolution,in which they might not, the graphics will have to stoop down to ps3's level ,but only for Ea games. Just like now. So in comparison to the battle of gamecube, ps2, and xbox of today will be carried on to the future Revolution, Ps3, and xbox 360.

For one it is already said that it will be sold for 250 and we really don't need original software for we have that great ass control. And to fix my comment before, i forgot that the control will have an attachment to play any other games such as the games of the past or today.

You have to think of it like this. Microsoft released their console last year just for the installed base advantage. When the PS3 launches, you can expect the 360 to "launch" too. It will have better games, more features will be added over Live to make sure the PS3 doesn't embarass it.

If Web Browsing turns out to be a big in demand thing, they WILL add it. If DiVX turns out to be a must-have, they WILL add it. They are considering a DirecTV blade. etc etc.

And slowly all the "advantages" of a PS3 owner will disappear. And in the end, they'll still have poorer games than a 360 owner. And that's the only thing that matters to me.

And for the last god damn time nobody cares about backwards compatibility. Want to know how many times I used a PS1 game in my PS2? Once. For under five minutes.

The N64 had better games than the Playstation? Don't make me laugh. There were 4 great games, whereas the PS1 had the Gran Turismos, Final Fantasy, about a million other amazing RPGs (Chrono Cross anyone), Konami's good football titles, Tomb Raider, MGS, GTA etc etc.

Similarly for this generation, you must be joking. There are many more GameCube exclusives that I want than Xbox exclusives. a PS2 + GC= perfect. And this is from someone who has an Xbox (for the homebrew/emulation).

The 360 will never take this generation because it will never get the Japanese devlopers who make the best games.

Guy, man, dude, homes, cuz, (histaricly laughing) where have you been all this time. I mean the N64 clearly has enough titles to kick the ps1's ass. And the games you just said really disappointed me i broke them and threw them away. And before you say anything like " you're just a nintendo fanboy that does'nt even own any of sony's products". Well actually i do and out of all of them I only have the ps1. Which really ticked me off because all i had for the consel (that i really liked) was Command & Conquer Red Alert, Spec ops 2, Resisdent evil 2, and a couple of wrestling titles. Nothing else.the rest just truely disappointed me.

Oh and i can't forget the twisted metal series. that was okay until part 4 came out.

I am not a fan of any system. I just see that the ps3 won't live up to the hype. If it does, then most people won't be able to afford it. And that, would be be bad for business, for like it or not, kids are still the biggest consumers of games, and if mommy and daddy look at a ps3 that's like 700 dollars, and a 360 that's like 400 dollars, and a revolution that's 250, guess which one timmy and his friends are gonna get? Plus the better looking a game is, the more time and money has been spent on it. that means that that state of the art game is going to be like 70 bucks, which just doesn't make sense for a company to release more than 1 or 2 a year. Don't be surprised when none of these systems and games live up to what they say they can do.

I am a Nintendo fanboy at heart, its just that I can obviously see that although some great games were for the N64, there were many many more for the PS1.

Maybe 4 was a bit of an exaggeration, but Yoshi's Story> Come on, there were at least 100 PS1 games better than that awful game.

The xbox contorl is a bit troublesome, but that doesn't mean that the ps2's contorl is better. The analog is so hard to reach. so therefor the best control is the gamecubes because everything is in reachable distances.

Well, when debuting screenshots that are supposed to show off the graphical power of a new system, wouldn't it make sense for Sony to provide screens that are ACTUALLY good? These examples create important first impressions of the "powerful" machine.

I am sick of all the Sony Fan Boys around that don't have a clue about the companies involved and the architecture of gaming consoles. Let’s have a quick look at Sony shall we. What a great company Sony "Used to be". Forefathers of great inventions, great products and re-known for quality products.

Now it is re-known for false hopes broken promises and a trail of failed products. The company once known as the producer of the best TV's around; has out sourced this to Samsung. The company known for producing the Walkman has lost out to the Apple and why??? Because Sony never delivers on its promise. Take the PS1, a stolen product from Nintendo, ok it was for most people the first CD player in the home, but really was it that good compared to the SNES which was older.

The PS2 failed to deliver also; remember the emotion engine anyone??? How it was going to revolutionise gaming!!! Never heard of again, it was too complicated to program. The architecture that Sony uses is a complicated program to master. At least with Microsoft they develop programs for programmers to use. XNA allows games to be made faster and more affordable to produce (I admit the knock down effect of this last statement has not reached the consumer as yet).

Sony is due to close 10 factories around the world over the next couple of years. Sony is also fully aware that the PS3 will be make or break for them. Sony is set to lose (and this is only an estimate as there is no spec sheet or price margins released) roughly 1 billion dollars in the first year of production alone, that’s just on hardware alone. Plus the cost of adverting and royalties to the chip providers and other costs that need to taken in to consideration. And all this is on top of the production costs the development. It’s not a cheap exercise releasing a console, and from Sony’s performance on the stock market over the last few years can they afford not to deliver!! I could keep writing on and on about the hardware that maybe or may not be released. The fact that games are getting smaller and smaller in size and not bigger. The games on the Xbox 360 are smaller than that of the original Xbox release titles. As they start to develop more titles they will become better at condensing them into smaller files. So do we really need Blu-Ray on the PS3 as I will not be buying a PS3 just because it has a Blu Ray player on it, this is due to the complete balls up of the original DVD Player in the PS2. Remember that how we couldn’t hear the DVD Sound due to the noise. Then there was the wonderful drive feature that tore your DVD to shreds.

Anyway I will shut up now and allow Sony to release the information before I start on the Hardware specification. Its easy for people to say Sony will win, but if the last 15 – 20 years in the gaming industry has taught us anything is; how the might have fallen and been swept aside for a new corporate shark to take over the manor.
