Curt Schilling loses the mitt for the ole' mouse & keyboard
Curt Schilling is out of the closet. The one-time World Series MVP recently came
clean about his long-time EverQuest addiction. Today, Schilling needs to play multiple EverQuest II
characters simultaneously to keep up with his body's craving (see his 4-monitor setup, pictured right).
"EverQuest II provides me an opportunity to remain in touch with my family... My son Gehrig and I play together
when I'm not working and he's not in school." C'mon Schill, do you really expect us to buy that excuse? The pitching great recently took this other passion to the next level, signing an endorsement deal with SOE. Look for Schilling to lead his guild on daring quests and calculated raids in the recently released Kingdom of Sky expansion.
[Thanks, mordecai]

lol, he uses a Zboard!

A pitcher that will go down in Boston Red Sox history as a savior has a kid named Gehrig? Nice.

I wonder what guild/server he plays on. I knew about his EQ1 addiction, but never heard for sure if he moved onto EQ2 or not.
I no longer play EQ2, but it would be funny if I played on the same server as him while I did play.

Doesn't particularly surprise me, considering he reviewed several EQ products for PC Gamer

Well now I know if Schilling sucks this year I'll have Everquest to blame. Are there any +5 splitfinger fastball enchantments in Everquest?

As a former EQ dork I have been entertained by the "Curt playes EQ!" thing for years. He was a Monk in EQ, same as me. A pitcher... same as me except I sucked and only played college ball. I hit one too many guys :(

sick. just sick. ive been a gamer for literally as long as i remember. ive had my share of gaming addictions, especially online ones, but i have never, NEVER been the slightest bit interested in MMOs. this is a freakish level of addiction.

Exick, I dont know if your comment was scarasm or not, but he is named after Lou Gehrig. Schilling is a huge supporter of research into ALS ie Lou Gehrig's Disease.

My personal favorite story related to this is from when Schilling was still with the Diamondbacks. Doug Glanville, who was once Schilling's teammate in Philly, hit two homers off of Schilling in a game (in 2001). His reason? Because Schill killed Bingbong, Glanville's Dwarven Paladin, in EQ.

Worth noting that Glanville, for most of his career, was an absolutely atrocious hitter.

"Exick, I dont know if your comment was scarasm or not, but he is named after Lou Gehrig. "
It wasn't sarcasm. Gehrig was a Yankee hero. Schilling is a Red Sox hero. Are you familiar with that rivalry, minus_273?
A Red Sox hero named his kid after a Yankee hero. Nothing wrong with that, just the diehard Sox fans see a little dissonance.

What obo said. I just enjoy the fact that Red Sox fans have to revere a guy who named his son after one of the most beloved Yankees of all time.

I wonder if he uses Stardock's Multiplicity tool.

Jabbertrack's right. Boston media has been giving Schill kind of a hard time about his everquest addiction. Hard time as in "poking some pun", really. BostonDirtDogs.com- a popular Sox site- wound up posting links to his "guild" (I've never played EQ- is it a clan?) so you could read interviews about his difficult decision to switch from EQ 1 to 2, and so on.
P.S.
1. Schilling
2. Beckett
3. Wake
4. Clement
5. Paplebon-Clemens
!?! Lester/FatmanWells
Unstoppable. Except Clement. Clement Sucks. Carry on.

We Sox fans are pretty ambivilant towards the older yankees like ruth, gherig, dimaggio etc. I think they are generally looked at more as _baseball_ heroes than yankee heroes. Besides, the yankees did not turn truely evil until Steinbrenner took over.
