So did the feeding frenzy on the
long-awaited Sony news cause Microsoft to get a little nervous? Not really... They've been virtually unchallenged in
this next-gen "race" since November and this doesn't change much on their side of the fence. Not that they
even have to say anything in response, but Microsoft still thought it worthy to remark on what they think about it.
This was posted on the Gamerscore Blog yesterday:"This announcement certainly doesn’t change any of our plans. We’ve blasted out of the gate with the greatest launch in the history of video games and we’re keeping our eyes squarely fixed on today and on the Xbox 360 road ahead, including continuous new content and programming through our premier Xbox Live online gaming service, the delivery of 80 high definition games and shipping between 4.5 and 5.5 million consoles by June."
Sounds like they're just going to keep on truckin'. The Microsoft camp seems to have ice in their veins at the moment, and why shouldn't they? Their closest competitor hardly peps up about their own console. But now that Sony fans have something to go on, Microsoft will just focus on holding fast to the market share they've managed to pull since launch.
