Next Halo project revealed! Graphic novel?

Bungie's next project isn't Forerunner (like we had to tell you that), it isn't even Pimps at Sea or Halo 3... it's the Halo Graphic Novel. Described as "a 128 page, full color, high quality hardcover graphic novel, featuring an anthology of original stories, including one big story, and three shorter tales," the HGN is a collaboration between Bungie, Marvel comics, and an impressive roster of comic-book artists and writers.
In addition to the four main stories, there will be original gallery pieces by some two-dozen comic artists and Bungie artists. There's plenty more information at Bungie.net, or jump below to check out some details on the original stories.

Although I never had the time to go over the already released novels, the concept of a comic book sounds really intruiging. We're still waiting for an announcement concerning Halo3.
Bungie is such a tease

This just in. Yet another next halo project revealed. Halo gamertag pics for your 360. WOW.
Why make it sound like its the next halo project when Bungie is clearly working on another halo game which is the next big project
Whuh? @ Mar 17th 2006 10:28PM
"OK, so we often literally don't have any news to update you with. That's just the harsh reality of working on a game, and to the same extent, a "secret project." But today, we actually have something sort of useful."
If you read that first paragraph, it state that Bungie is working on a game, a secret project, beside the novel.
Hamson @ Mar 17th 2006 11:11PM
Not to be too harsh or anything, but since you guys are a video game publication and all...
Did you even read the article? Or at least the first paragraph or two? It clearly states that they are working on a video-game project, and this was just something on the side.
Your title and post are very misleading.

There was some speculation this week that the "secret" game is actually NOT Halo 3, but Shadowrun...
...who knows, eh? We'll find out eventually.

Hmm, interesting. I enjoyed Halo and I'm quite a fan of comics and graphic novels. This seems like a happy pairing - just hope it doesn't cost a ton.
Exo @ Mar 18th 2006 10:46AM
WTH? Why are tehy making a graphic novel now, its not like Halos story is even that good. All its got going for it is the multiplayer.
Jonn @ Mar 18th 2006 11:45AM
"Armour testing" looks like a sequence from Halo:First Strike, "Breaking Quarantine" looks like Johnson's escape from Halo, and "Second Sunrise" seems to be the battle in New Mombasa from a civilian perspective.
Momus @ Mar 18th 2006 11:57AM
Cover looks like it's by Ashley Wood. That'd be reason enough to go buy it.
Stephanie Chan @ Mar 18th 2006 12:35PM
#7, The cover is by Phil Hale.
Reasons to buy it include Simon Bisley. Moebius, Craig Mullins, Geof Darrow, and others. I'm not a fan of playing first-person shooters, but I'm totally hyped for this graphic novel.
Miharu @ Mar 18th 2006 1:07PM
I'm definitely interested, but I'd be more interested in a Halo manga. That might also make Japanese gamers more interested in Xbox and Halo.

Master Chief, Master Chief
Does whatever a cyborg sees
Needs a weapon, any size,
Squishes 'Lites just like flies
Look Out!
Here comes the Master Chief.
Is he strong?
Listen bud,
He's the MJOLNIR armor stud.
Can he blow up a big Wraith
Take a look at those wrecks
Hey, there
There goes the Master Chief.
In the chill of space
At the scene of a war
In his Warthog he race
He arrives just for more.
Master Chief, Master Chief
SPARTAN-117 Master Chief
Rank and fame
He's ignored
Kicking ass is his reward.
To him, life is a great big bang up
Whenever there's a Covenant up
You'll find the Master Chief.
