If you own a copy of MLB 2K5 for Xbox, you'll be able to compete against Jason Giambi over Xbox Live
this Tuesday, March 21. The event is part of Xbox Live's Game with Fame program, and Giambi is
"taking time from his busy spring training regimen to challenge his fans."And what exactly does that "regimen" involve? Microsoft dedicates half a page to Giambi's accomplishments, but conveniently omits anything about his admitted steroid use from 2001 to 2003, when he injected himself with human growth hormones (and used a veritable shopping list of other banned substances). While you can credit the former MVP for coming clean, I think it's shameful that 2K Sports and Microsoft are endorsing a publicly acknowledged cheater who has contributed to baseball's substance abuse problem. Who's next on the schedule? Barry and Raf?
Until Bud Selig gets his PunkBuster program into place, there are still plenty of clean players Microsoft could have chosen. I hear Curt Schilling's a gamer.
