Time Magazine
has a new piece raising the question if Generation M youth are too wired for their own good. From the article:
"Today 82 percent of kids are online by the seventh grade, according to the Pew Internet and American Life
Project... 'Kids that are instant messaging while doing homework, playing games online and watching TV, I predict,
aren't going to do well in the long run,' says Jordan Grafman, chief of the cognitive neuroscience section at the
National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke."The article does mention that high online usage allows kids to be "extraordinarily good at finding and manipulating information." But what about games? We're not the first to say it, but life is all about balance. So do you think online multitasking is a problem for younglings, and how do you deal with excessive gaming (if there is such as thing)?
