Battlefield 2 demo for 360 arrives this week
Beginning this Thursday, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download a demo of Battlefield 2:
Modern Combat using the Xbox Live Marketplace service. The game is basically a graphically enhanced version of the
PS2 and Xbox titles that shipped in October, but is a highly anticipated next gen release given the 360's thin
library.EA says the demo will include a sampling of the 24-player multiplayer action that is expected to drive sales. The launch date for Modern Combat is April 11.

If this game has addressed the lag and rank issues the xbox version had (not being able to join my friends because they had a rank lower/higher than me was annoying) I think it will be great. Also including an option so I can host instead of being stuck looking for an EA server that doesn't suck would be good.
This could be a killer app for the 360, IF THEY DID IT RIGHT.
But then again, Im just a big dork who loves to run people over with vehicles (The one thing GRAW is missing)

I don't know if this happend to anyone else. But I was playing Halo 2 on my xbox 360 and then all of a sudden it said that I've been signed out because someone else signed in with my account. It kept doing that for about 20 minutes. Then a few hours later I get an email from ES saying "Thanks for signing up for our Battlefield 2 Demo I hope your enjoying it" Seemed just a bit weird, because I did'nt sign up for anything, and I definatly have not been playing the game.

A little offtopic, but I find it somewhat amusing that you show the Xbox360 with a memory card in this picture.
I would wager my 200 XBL micropoints that you will need the HDD to download this demo.
I heard a rumor that BF2 on the X360 will have its own servers, and not be hosted on our machines... can anyone confirm this?

Re: the server question, yes, the Xbox version had EA hosted servers. Maps were chosen by vote. Fortunately for the setup, there were limited game types, so being stuck in conquest mode did not sting so much.

Its an EA game, so you will have to use EA's servers. To the best of my knowledge all of EA's games on Xbox Live are like this.

I can't for this game! here's what I'm looking forward to on the 360. 5 of my teammates waiting for the Blackhawk to spawn, 3 others boosting at the edge of the map for the ridiculous "master healer" medal, 2 guys wall glitching, and a 6th grading team killing.
All in glorious high definition.

Let's hope that there are new stages and that these new stages are larger and more expansive than the Xbox upgrades from before.
