When the PlayStation 3 was officially delayed until November
(we emphasize 'official' since it has been a rather unofficial delay for some time...), Microsoft
and Nintendo jumped for joy.
So did many Japanese developers, it seems.According to GameSpot, translating Japanese publication Nikkei BP, many Japanese publishers reacted positively to the news. Konami, especially, lauded the release date clarification: "we think that the delay will give us enough time to make sure we deliver better quality in our games." Other companies highlighted by GameSpot include Square Enix, Capcom, Koei, and Bandai. The general consensus is that the companies are excited that Sony has finally announced a release window--a sentiment they share with every Joystiq writer (and, incidentally, almost every gamer in existence).
