Fantaz--

Nope. Thank you for your time.

In all seriousness (and lunacy), our posting of humor (even if it is bad, it is still humor) does not take away our time in posting real news, especially at 11pm EST when there isn't any news to yet report on. That, and this was an amusing piece of original material done by someone who works for our sister site, and we love to give the piece some credit.

It's called PUBLIC INTEREST. I am INTERESTED in Joystiq's oppinion on what would be said tomorrow.

Actually, alot of websites, blogs, and forums are wondering just that. Im sorry Fantaz, this isn't a flame or attack, but not all news is earth shattering.

Besides public interest, it could also be humor. :)

I thought I had heard it all, but "Powerstick????" That's almost as stupid as their "revolutionary" controller.

I think they gonna call it: "Oh my God, I hit my three year old brother in the head by swinging the controller to kill that monster on Zelda TP" nintendo entertainment system

When will the info be up on the site? Will it be a play by play like the PS3 conference? Also, I personally like "Nintendo Blue" since they have been so crazy about their new "blue sea" or "blue ocean" business strategy... and it would match that sexy blue glow in the front.

If I had to guess, I'd say:

DS Lite release stateside, via a NSMB bundle at a cost of about 160US. Eventual price drop for the standard DS. Unofficial "Revolution" name changed to official "Revolution" name (Ninty just can't throw all the free press that name's been getting out of the window). Some information on Twilight Princess. Discussion on Nintendo's pipe dream (for now) of having indie developers supplant big name developers for a fraction of the cost. Nintendo's efforts to open up the market by making the DS as ubiquitous as possible (book club meetings, college lectures, libraries, museums). Nintendo relies on 2 pillars beginning in 2007. Something about movies.

I tend to agree that it'll be either Revolution, or will have something "classic-sounding" like NES.

Oh, and fawazr's comment about Nintendo relying on 2 pillars is right on the money. Think about it. Nintendo claimed that the DS was a third-pillar back when it was a gamble. Now that it's experiencing such unimaginable success (and has such incredible software) there's no way they can release a next-gen handheld that doesn't play DS games.

My prediction: There will be no next Gameboy. The future of Nintendo handhelds is in the DS line. The only way a non-DS handheld will be released is if Ninty somehow comes up with a portable Gamecube. (Which would be awesome, by the way.)

For the millionth time to those who repeatedly mention hitting someone while "swinging" the controller, you can rest it in your lap and use wrist movements only! The swinging in the extremely old video is just to explain what's going on. There is no logical reason for someone to harm another while using this controller!

News flash -- it's called a joke. You actually think Nintendo would release a console with a name like that? lol.

And you think their controller is stupid even though you haven't played a single game with it -- awesome! Ladies and gents, I smell a jealous Sony boomerang-loving insecure fanboy.

Everyone--

Haha, love the suggestions/predictions.

Pablo (and everyone)--

We will have a nice and spiffy post up about 42 seconds after Iwata announces the title--all we need now is the name and we're golden (hoping to be first!)

Oh, I was figuring that you'd have it up right quick, but I was wondering what time of day that would be... I'm willing to sit here all day, refreshing, but if I had more of a timeframe, that would rock.

Does Iwata ever look happy? I mean, everytime you see a picture of Miyamoto, he's got the goofiest looks on his face, but Iwata always looks so serious.
