Sony confirms God of War 2 worldwide Q1 2007
It turns out that leaked Sony document was right on the
money. Sony has confirmed that David Jaffe and co. are hard at work on a sequel to their mega-hit God of War

Let me guess! Ooh ooh me me!
"I always said that God of War II was my dream game, well no longer, God of War III really is the game I've always wanted to play."
Is that the answer?

I just hope it is more captivating than the original. God of War was "totally awesome" for the first couple of hours...and then that feeling wore off as the game continued on. It still left me dying for a sequel to Ninja Gaiden, which is really what I wanted.

So God Of War II will be released within 4 months of the ps3 has its worldwide release, and it will be ps2 title? Weird.
Exo @ Mar 22nd 2006 2:19PM
now weird, unlike MS, sony doesnt kill of its system once they release a new one.
also people will need something to play during the masive ps3 shortages.
mandarin @ Mar 22nd 2006 2:23PM
What if they came out with Goddess of War ?
Fan @ Mar 22nd 2006 2:26PM
Yeah that AND the PS3 will actually feature WORKING backwardscompatability. WOW
This actually means that i can buy older games and they will actually "#¤" work on my new console!!!1

Man, that would sure look sweet on the 360-tee hee *cheek*

If there was a "Goddess of War" then "Laura Croft" would be fired from her job as a sex symbol of video games.

The latest PS2 isn't even compatible with some PS2 games (even 2005 games), and you guys are ripping on MS about backwards compatability.

Oh am I looking forward to this one. As I'm an enthusiast of Greek Mythology, Puzzles, and Bloody Stabby Violence the original was one of my all time favorites. If 2 is even half as good as the first, I'll be a happy . I only have a couple of questions. Will this one have deliciously blasphemous diacide? And how does sony get all these great games like GoW and Katamari to only show up on their machines?
Spike @ Mar 22nd 2006 3:16PM
I hope it will have more bosses this time. GOW was an amazing game, albeit a short one with few bosses(emm just 3). Come on Jaffe, give us more HUGE bosses and it will be the best action greekfest ever!!
On another note, Sony seems to like worldwide launches lately. First Ps3, now GoW2 and there is a chance FFXII comes in Europe early as well. Big profile games coming for ps2 and not the next gen offering, sounds familiar?
And i am not talking only about Zelda:Tp. Final Fantasy IX was released close to ps2 and i was one of those that played it there.
This "backwards-compatibility" strategy seems to work quite well. Keeps the "old" console alive and gives the "new" one some amazing games that are playable on.
Yeah!!

Why? sony lovers Why?
Do you realy have try and prove your superiority by mocking the Xbox cant we all just get along?
Rare Hare @ Mar 22nd 2006 5:32PM
i kind of have a feeling that God of War II isn't actually going to be called God of War II. i mean.. it's not about the God of War, Ares, anymore. why would it be?
either way.. i'm excited, and i TOTALLY understand why they wouldn't release this as a PS3 game. the PS2 has shipped over 100 million units.. the PS3 will still be brand new. and for those who have a PS3, they can play it on that anyway.
it will alow the game to reach a MUCH broader audience.

SPOILER ALERT
#14, Doesn't Kratos become the new God of War at the end, or is my memory failing me? That would make it an appropriate title still.

I wonder why they would release it Q1 in 2007 instead of late 06, maybe there are afraid of the new Zelda getting game of the year??? LOL, j/k, anyways can wait to see what they make of the next installment!
Tj @ Mar 23rd 2006 5:37PM
Hmmm what will he be after this time? Last time was pandora's box now whats another good thing. Anyone think of anything?
jason hormel @ Mar 23rd 2006 5:43PM
bottom line is goddess of war is simply fading as to goddes of war 2,why make the fdeal over it??i mean thats then point of sequal...and the convo about the ps3 isn't exactly correct..the ps3 doesnt have an official date for when it is comming out..chances are a problem will occur
kc @ Mar 26th 2006 4:37AM
this sorta defies the beginning (which was actually the end) of the original God Of War game. have you people forgot that part????
'The Gods of Olympus have abandon me, there is no hope' and with that Kratos cast himself from the highest mountain in all of greece.........Kratos is dead.

Umm #19 (jason hormel) They do have a due date for the Ps3 and it is November. Every gaming site has such as ign (gamespy).
God of War II looks god damn crazy, if u haven't seen the trailer yet than you are missing some of the stuff that God of War II has.
