I know you've already seen shots of Nintendo's little white box at this year's GDC, but you haven't seen these shots. "What makes these shots different?" you ask, politely.
Only one thing: I was there! I saw it with my own two eyes and the Revolution is, in a word, tiny. It's deceptively small. Think about the first time you pulled the GameCube out of its box and marveled at how it was smaller than you'd imagined. Think Mac mini small. Think Xbox 360 power supply small. Think parking lot from the window seat of an airplane small... alright, maybe not that small, but small!

The size of the revmote controller is the most shocking. It looks like it could fit in my hand with room to spare. Now I have to make the papercraft version!

Yup, its shiny. There's practically a mirror finish to the thing.

You can see how the top panel flips up for the Gamecube controllers.

Two USB ports, A/V port, and the power port. It's a sad day for anyone holding onto hope that the base would double as a power supply.

The illumination gives the console a sacred glow. Judging by the fanboys swarming the thing, offering sacrifices of virgin('s) drool, the analogy is peculiarly apt.

I wonder if the glass lid lifted off. I'm wondering how many people wondered the same thing while basking in its glow. I'm wondering how many actually tried it. There had to be at least one.

Compared to standing on it's edge by itself, standing in the base would give the revo more stability as the base has a larger footprint.
Also, being as your hand would be at a greater height than wherever your revo is, its placed at an angle to improve ergonomics. i.e. Its easier to insert a disc at an angle then horizontally.
P.s. Although I'm not a professional yet. I am in my final few weeks of a 4 year product design course at university. So yeah, I do have some kind of clue as to what I'm talking about.
One more thing! (voice of Uncle from Jackie Chan cartoon)
Revo is the best design by far. The PS3 looks like a PS2 with a hoody. The 360 looks anorexic.
Here some pics for you @ VidGuy (including the angled base)

Seriously, though, I can't find any reason to diss on the Rev, mostly because we don't know enough yet. If the PS3 launches at more than $400 (a good possibility), the Rev is the only next gen system I will have for at least a few years. And I will be content. Eventually I'll get the other consoles, but the Rev is just so interesting and is promising a truly next gen experience, HD or not.

the panel hides two sd card connectors who will be used as memory card for the system
it's impossible to have a projector less than 600$ and it's impossible to have a projector as tiny as the revolution itself...
but it's possible that the front panel hides more than just the two sd card connectors

Even if that isn't it, I'm sure nintendo's secret is sure to be a good one anyway.
As for people saying it has no games, what are you talking about? SSB3 is going to be a launch title, they'll have MKR, and SM128. Along with a bunch of others I am too lazy to remember or look up now. AND they got the Virtual Console in addition to those titles. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to kick my friends asses in Smash Bros over free Wifi (after the thirty dollar adapter, though -_-).
I'm getting the rev and my brother is getting the PS3, 360 can suck it.
