I... Am totally mystified about the point in this. The xbox 360 is just showing the screen output of the PC. So why bother? You could just use the PC.
I suppose maybe it could be useful to use your XB360 as just one big HDTV-adapter, but why bother when computer monitors offer roughly equivalent resolutions(and higher) anyway?

this is a pretty ghetto way of emulating on your tv. My xbox will already run most emulators as it is... all you are showing here is that the 360 will stream whatever you put through to it... Wake me up when they run unsigned code on the 360

Okay, seriously, an NES running at ALMOST full speed on an xbox 360 is a most terrible achievement. 3 3.2GHZ cores and a rediculous graphics processor and it can't even run NES at full speed? Come on, the system is capable of storing the entire NES game library (for USA) in RAM!

You'd be better off running an NES emulator on a cheaper console, like an xbox, or even some handhelds like a DS (with M3 Adapter) or even a PSP.

Keep in mind this is only the first iteration of this particularly style of emulation. It will improve in speed and usability and (ultimately) popularity if the developers stay committed to it.

Remember, it's not the Xbox 360 running the emulator, but the Windows Media Center PC running it inside a browser window.

my setup has a little bit of delay when running like that (over remote desktop), which is no good for games. so i just have the pc connected directly to the TV, and then there is no lag. another thing to note is that Direct3D will not remote to the XBox 360. but the real problem with the PC is the lack of the wireless XBox 360 controller.

"but the real problem with the PC is the lack of the wireless XBox 360 controller."

Nah, the wired one works fine. The wireless one SHOULD work if you have the PNC cable, but it sure doesn't.

"Okay, seriously, an NES running at ALMOST full speed on an xbox 360 is a most terrible achievement. 3 3.2GHZ cores and a rediculous graphics processor and it can't even run NES at full speed?

The Xbox 360 ISN'T running the emulator. The Media Center PC is. Note to mention that emulation through a browser will not be as effective as a stand alone emulation program.

It's more effective to buy an old laptop with an S-Video out, load the emulators on it, and play through the TV that way. Personally, I use a newer laptop so I can at least play AVP2. Much better than sitting at a desk playing (and with a 51" screen vs 17").

I loaded Windows Media Center on that laptop to try it out with the 360, and my consensus is that it isn't worth buying Media Center. If you have it already, then great. Hopefully they just allow video streaming through Windows XP Pro in the future.

You know I wonder when Nintendo will go after Microsoft for allowing it's consoles to run illegal Nintendo game roms.

Same with the sony psp.

Yes ROMS are illegal. Game copyrights last 75 years until they are nulled by the copyright owner.

It doesn't matter if you own the original only the copyright owner according to copyright law can make backups.

Wow, the most powerful gaming system to date, and it struggles to run an NES game. That really tells you something...

I don't know exactly what, but something...

Stupid idiots. The 360 isnt doing any emulation at all.
Geezuz I cant believe how freakin stupid people are to believe this shit. Next my 360 will be emulating my freaking TV through my PC/Card through the freakin Media Centre. Geezuz - what a bunch of tossers. Someone get unsigned code running, then run an X-Port emu, then you have someones attention. Bunch of tossers.
Daniel.
