Though hilarious, give the kid some credit. Who in this room hasn't freaked out upon receiving precious gaming hardware? So please, post your "best moments in hardware history" in the comments below.
Russel Page: if a company's NEW console will play N64 games, then this is a perfect viral for the here and now. It's immensely effective at evoking the sense of Christmastime nostalgia and excitement of pure gaming.
This makes a very effective Nintendo Revolution advertisement.
dude, you can't blame advertising. i freaked out like that, with less screaming but more jumping up and down, when i got my atari 2600 back in the stone ages. i don't think i'd seen a single commerical. i didn't watch friggin tv. i sure as hell made my mom stop at every mall arcade we saw though. i knew the atari logo and all i knew was atari at home was the coolest shit ever. besides, when you're a kid, it's not about ads, it's about the one thing you reeeally wanted but thought you might not get.
That's the way I reacted when I got a 360 last Christmas. Only because I had no idea, and I was anticipating it so much. I gave my parents the biggest hugs, and went to go play Hexic.
That takes me back to 1992 when I got Super Mario Kart. I never told anybody I wanted it. I guess my parents just knew I was an auto racing fan, and what better game to go with a new SNES.
Of course, I wasn't quite as hysterical as that kid.
The kid in that video is Hokku (Michael Tucker), a writer from 4 Color Rebellion. This video 1st appeared on 4 Color Rebellion and was provided by Michael himself.
Octorok, please. You think that Nintendo doesn't have access to time-distortion technology? You obviously haven't seen the second half of that video, when the sister shoots the kid in the eye with her new Red Rider BB Gun, exposing that his head is made of liquid metal.
MMM One day my parents bring my bro and I in from out side and hand us each a wrapped box...My bro saw that mine was bigger and quickly grabbed it...I was like whatever since I was never a greedy kid...So he said to open mine first...so I did and in the box were about 5-7 games...we were estatic...we said now we could take them to our friends and play them...My parents just laughed and told my bro to open his...It was an NES...We probably screamed for 5 min straight...no words just screaming...
Yeah my dad paid $400 for my PS2 and basicly took it off the loading dock...I was going crazy...then it broke 3 weeks later...I HATE U SONY...haha I bought a slim a couple months ago...Just to play Snake Eater...It was worth it...not the console (still lame and I'm parinoid I'll break it)but Snake Eater rox...
It was the first Christmas that the SNES was out and me and my younger brother knew that there was one waiting under the tree. My mom was paying her dues as a nurse at the time and our grandmother was watching us in the evenings and at night while she was at work. A few nights before Christmas we were bored as heck and decided to see if we could do something so that we could break out the SNES early. After about two hours of nagging and generally bratty behavior our grandma final told us to just open the damn thing and leave her alone. My brother passed out around 1 AM but I kept going until around 4 AM when my mom got home. She wasn't very happy to see me awake or playing the SNES but I just said "grandma said we could" as I turned Super Mario World off and ran for bed.
lol... figures that all you Nintendo haters would try to say this was fake. I like how people can't just accept that yes, people really DID get that excited over their new Nintendo systems. I sure got excited when I got my N64 for my birthday, and "marketing" had nothing to do with it. I saw Super Mario 64 in action, played it for 5 minutes and was absolutely floored. I NEEDED that game.
Back in the days when I first got my N64, when I got home from school I would RUN up the stairs to my room to get more precious time in with Super Mario 64.
I doubt my brother and I freaked out as much, but when we got the original NES (complete with R.O.B) for christmas, I'm sure we were pretty excited... also, we usually tried to stay up all night on christmas eve, so we were usually quite tired the next morning... it's hard to jump around and shout when you've only gotten 3-5 hours of sleep at 4 & 6.
I think he says, "Now we can order games from Blockbuster." Since when does Blockbuster deliver games to your doorstep? The endorphins must have been blurring his thoughts.
I didn't yell or scream when i got my psp last year. Inside i went crazy. It was the first day psp was out and I was counting way b4-the days b4 it's release..I looked for ways to earn enough money to buy. I even like told my parents like evrything about it. So the first day it came out, i was upset in my heart, cuz there was a contest i entered to win 1 but my friend did... It was an ordinary saturday-doing chores and such when at about 9 o' clock..my aunt and uncle came back form running around town and shopping,etc.. i was on the comp in sorrow over the people who won the psp and i wasn't 1 of them. I even wrote to the contest holder(telling him how i wanted it soo bad), he never responded. anyway-my parents were upstairs unpacking the bags they brought in..and my uncle called me upstairs into the dining room..and guess what was there?! PSP!!! i was like o my god, u guys didn't have to do this!!! but they shuda of :) I was the happiest kid that day! I was playing with it all night. Bragging to my friends on the internet and everything..Worst day was yet 2 come. My aunt told me not to bring it to school on the fact she said so..:( but i did and it was safe and everything..but during the middle of class, i got called down to the office to bring my stuff-like i was going home...Oh man was i wrong. My aunt was there in the office.she found out i had brought it to school-so she took it and the games and returned them to Best Buy :( :( :( worst day ever, i brought one myself soon after, and now she can't tell me to not bring it to school :)
I had this EXACT same reaction when i was 9 and got my NES. I never thought i'd ever get a video game system. I was so in shock I probably almost passed out.
I remember getting really excited when I got my first system, a Sega Game Gear, for Christmas in '94. I thought I wigged out to the extent this kid did when I got it, but I watched the tape recently and I just yelled, I GOT A GAME GEAR! COOL MAN!"
Wicked hilarious-that kid is the embodiment of joy and it doesn't matter what the cause. Even more hilarious are all the people on here who think picking on advertising is like picking on retards. Let it go!
Believe it or not, these are actually my children and here’s the story behind the video. The reason he is so excited is because we told him that he would NEVER EVER get a game system and that he would only be allowed to play on his friends sytem; to his surprise, we LIED! What you don’t hear that was left off was that we weren’t going to buy him any games and that he’d have to rent them from BB! We still have the system today and we’re thinking of posting it on Ebay. Brandon just posted this on his website a week ago kuzmadv.com and had som much traffic his site shut down. He should have it up again by Tuesday under a different hosting company. Believe me or not.
