It wont port because Microsoft wants to own everything like they want to own the internet standards. Locking people into theyre tech is Microsofts buisness model number 1. No actually is any big megacorps dream buisiness model because its proven the most lucerative. So GODBLESS COMPETITION.

With Sony and Nintendo opening up theire networks Microsoft will probobly let comapnies run theire own servers!

Thanks

PS. Yeah i know my spelling sucks. If you dont like it bring the spellcheck button back.

GOd Bless Xbox Live,

Have you played on Live compared to the POS that is out there for Sony(PS@) right now? Sony's company run servers were ridiculous at least when I was on someones PS2 last yr, slow, full of cheating and just generaly buggy.

I love competition but your almost saying that no one should have an exclusive title.

If I'm not mistaken, Microsoft has already opened the Xbox Live platform to developers.

They also allow publishers more control over their games. This was what was keeping EA from supporting Xbox Live for so long.

No i haven tried online for any console. I only play online on PCs and its the best experience hands down. There this open thing called the internet were i can download trailers and demos and even full length feature films. WOW Godbless the internet.

"I love competition but your almost saying that no one should have an exclusive title."

Now that would be heaven. Imagine a world without the plauge that is exclusives. That way we could just buy the console we want instead of having to buy 3 consoles to play that one game. Imagine a world were big corps would not be able to take over small development firms and force them to swear alligence. I have a dream..

How would FFXI be any different from WoW? On the backend architecture I mean - obviously XBL is not hosting FFXI servers so there has to be some options there to go through XBL in order to play a MMO on a 3rd party server.

I'm not so sure about that Blizzard no ports policy thing. Let us not forget Starcraft 64.

I agree #5. But where is the mod for using Oblivion PC w/ an Xbox 360 controller? I would kill for that. (Yes, I like mouse/kb for an FPS, but Oblivion is hardly an FPS)

You have the console you dream of... it's called a PC. Don't you realize console makers make money off the software, NOT the hardware?! WTF would be the sense of making many different hardware configurations if they played all the same content?!

I don't even want to explain this to you if you fail to see it. OMG, I seriously didn't think informed [nerd, dork, geek, hardcore, whatever you classify youself as] gamers would fail to see this point... I really didn't. Wow... just, WOW!

By the way, remember the saying... "He who owns the content wins". Who the hell is going to win if everyone owns the content?!

If PC's only played games, you think you'd have a million and one PC manufacturers creating PC's and parts?! I'm still amazed you posted your bias and then, turned around, and posted your ignorance.

Of course i know console makers make money of software, at least this gen. Next-gen will have many different income models like dls, hardware trojaning and the ever elusive halo effect(like ms media center pcs and HDTVs) to name a few.

BUT that doesnt mean there has to be exclusives ffs. Do you think every game is exclusive or something? What about all of the mulit platform launches? Big comapnies pay off developers to remain exclusive or delay theyre other releases. Now if everyone could just agree on a single best set up standard for a gaming box. It would rox for us.

Also the hardware is the very thing that is killing of PC gaming for me. Jest too expensive =(

I belive we, the consumers, would win if everyone owns the content. Also the RIGHTFULL owners of the content, THE DEVELOPERS, would win and not some hardware manufacturing leech.

Thanks

Since Obilivion came out, I quit my lvl 15 gnome warlock for my lvl 5 witchhunter high elf. The begining of obivion offers fun and adventure, with a great battle engine. WOW at lower levels just feels like work. PVP must be great at higher levels cause of the amount of tediuos work it puts you through.

Seeing as how this story is NOT about porting WoW to 360 at all I feel the need to comment on what it IS about.

Thank god...i bought a 360 for WoW about 3 months ago and didn't realize the game didn't support gamepads. However...I ran into several problems during the install. I had to uninstall some runtime thing in oreder to unistall something else to install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 in order to install the mod. When it tried to run the program however it came up with an error. I've tried several different things and still no luck...If anyone get's this to actually work let me know what you did.
