Free Xbox Live Gold Weekend is a-happenin' now

there is also the fact that this is also the opening weekend for springbreak for a lot of highschoolers. Meaning that less people will likely be on b/c they will be preparing for or will already be on their spring vacations.

Does the free weekend support Xbox 1 games online?

thats just sad how they take money from you just to play online, how can people like my aford to pay this much just to play online? and microsoft say their strongest point is their online archeticrue.

people dont like paying for online, and theres proof. sony ps2 online was absolutly rubbish, and xbox 180 online was great. but did you know that there were more ps2 online users than xbox online users.

Yeah, there may have been more PS2 online players, but there were also 10 times more PS2 units on which to play online! Please, do you your homework. PS2's online service was free, and it was complete garbage. Xbox Live on the other hand, was far more superior in every sense, more use friendly, and infinitely more stable. Is $50 a year really that bad? That's $4.17/month. They didn't even raise the fee for the 360! How great is that?

Free online means, no support and no control. Everyone and their sister will jump onto PS3 and Nintendo online and it will make you WISH you had the punk kids from XBLive.

Live is actually 60euro / per year where I live.
That is about $73usd, every year. That is too much money for co-op or deathmatch once or twice a week.

I will wait for PlayStation 3, and play DS until then.

Xbox Live is a complete bargain - £40 for an entire year of playing any 360 games online, with all the added benefits of having a Gold account, yet people bitch and say it's too much. There are 5 million+ people out there spending about £9 on WoW all around the world.

Why the hell is everyone making such a fuss over the ONE OFF payment for Xbox Live?? Christ, its a freakin pittance !! Sony can keep talking up there supposed new online service being "free" etc etc. Nintendo much as well, but how many idiots out there think that the mooted idea of all Nintendo back/ctlg games will be free?? And just you wait until those microtransactions aint so "micro" anymore !!

Jeeze I dont think Ive ever seen so much damn MS bashing on any one site/blog as this one. You wanna talk about MS trying to "invade" and takeover more of our lives?? Jesus H !! Gimme a break. Just look at Sony for fucks sakes !! They make TVs, DVD Players,video games, CD/MP3 players, own movie companies, have large % in TV production, own about 99.9% of the western worlds music labels and even have a small stake in "indie" lables. So "buy" my reckoning, Sony controls what you hear, see, and what you use to utilize those senses !! And you talk of this "Microsoft is only in it for the Money!!"
