Of all the developers in the gaming industry, none enjoy April Fool's Day more than Blizzard. Today, their
assault on honesty hit in three waves:
- "In the end, only one power was strong enough to destroy
the insidious Archimonde." Blizzard announced the new Alliance race featured in the World of Warcraft
expansion The Burning Crusade: the
wisps! Man, I cannot wait to try out the racial trait Treeform, I've always wanted to become shrubbery!
- BurgerCraft: Blizzard restaurant chain will
celebrate the Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft universes with savory dishes from all Blizzard
games--really, it is the orc employee, Chef Thrall (pictured), that sells it. Tasty Templar does sound
rather...well...tasty, though.
- World of Starcraft: Okay, so
this gag has nothing to do with Blizzard (this was all GameSpot's idea), but we couldn't help but mention it while we
were making our rounds. Slated for release sometime next year in Korea, with other regions to
follow.
