Hitman: Blood Money sets sights on Xbox 360

In a stealth attack maneuver worthy of Agent 47, the fourth iteration of Eidos' Hitman series, dubbed Hitman: Blood Money, will be released on Microsoft's next-gen Xbox 360 system, in addition to the previously announced PC, Xbox, and PS2 platforms. The real coup de grâce is that it will be released alongside those versions this spring!
Executive Producer Neil Donnell said, "We are thrilled to be able to deliver Hitman: Blood Money on Xbox 360," continuing, “The development team at IO have engineered and developed the game to harness and exploit the latest in graphics and game technology so Xbox 360 is the ideal platform to demonstrate this work in HD. Gamers will be in for a real treat when they get their hands on this game and are able to fulfill their wildest Hitman fantasies.”
We'll have to wait and see if Blood Money has that GR:AW-licious, next-gen look or that disappointing current-gen port look, this screenshot ain't saying much.
[Thanks, Alex]

I'm somewhat a pessimist so my bet is this will turn out a lot like Gun for the 360. Inflated price, last gen graphics. I hope I am proven wrong.

I agree refinedsugar. I say this will be nothing more than a port like Farcry Instincts Predator. There will be a few graphical enhancements in the water and lighting/draw distances, but the characters, weapons, textures, and maps will all be nothing more than last gen quality at a higher resolution. The game is being developed using the same engine as the previous 2 games I believe, probably the same engine as the new tomb raider, which is also coming to the 360 with SLIGHTLY improved visuals.
Honestly, I can't wait until the current generation dies, or at least until the PS3/Revo come out. Then finally ports/cross platform titles will sport some decent graphics. GRAW was an exception because ubisoft worked it for the 360 from the ground up.
I'm not dissing the 360, I love the system, but I feel like instead of coming up with new content visually for the 360, developers are just taking advantage of the fact that right now, anyone with a 360 will gobble up any game for it just because it's for 360, thus they are just porting a game over, giving it some low-level graphical workovers, and charging another $10 for it. The result is the market gets flooded with ported current gen games that really don't look all that different from the current iterations. The same would have happend had any other console launched this far ahead of the competition. It's because of these events that I have gotten gamefly. Soon enough though, the cheap ports will stop. I'm not getting a PS3, but for the sake of good graphics in cross-platform games on my 360...next november can't come soon enough.
But...I agree, hopefully they'll prove me wrong, probably not though. The way developers are spitting these ported games out for the 360, those XNA tools must really make it simple to port games to like they say.

Here we go again.. Another game developed on last-gen hardware and then they spend a few months giving it that "next-gen graphics look" that really is nothing but a toss off and then sell it for next-gen prices. Sorry EIDOS you aren't gonna sucker me on this one.

Hey would anybody believe that the new ps3 will have better graphics than the 360? I was wondering because I have heard that games like this look so similar to the xbox and have no new next gen look? which console will be the best for viewing pleasure in terms of graphics?

WTF? How come all of you 'gamers' perfer console? CONSOLE SUCKS AND WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS A COMPUTER. Yeah, 360 looks slick but deck out a killer gaming PC and you'll blow it away w/ performance as well as player controllability / customization.
I only pray that gaming developers don't get suckered into to 'kiddie' market of computer games by going with the money makers instead of a truly great game concept.
Hitman is one of the most creative and immersive games ever brought to the gaming market. Let's hope they stay true to the real power of PC's and not static/fixed platforms that cannot be upgraded / tweaked in the hopes of corporate profits.
