If you own a copy of Far Cry Instincts Predator for Xbox 360, and have mastered its map editing feature, you'll want to check out the submission rules for the Far Cry Map-Making Madness contest. Ok now why Is canada Excluded from this contest? We have the same damn contest laws (except Qubec of course). I fucking hate all these Contests offered by microsoft, ign or whoever. their always America only. In Canada we have our own "Trip to E3" contests, but it requires winning by having the best journalistic essay and then going to e3 to help write some articles. Why cant it just be a contest that anyone can enter without having to be great in journalism like the American version? bah.

I agree with #1, I have seen so many stupid contests that I would LOVE to enter that I cannot simply because I am in Canada. It's annoying as hell and I will never understand it.
I can think of many announcements on joystiq relating to things like 360 give aways and shit, all of which I was never able to enter, why? because I live in Canada.

I do believe a lot of the typical contests sponsored run into various multi-national taxes/laws.

Canada actually does not have the same contest laws. That is not the reason why the contests don't apply there, though. The real reason is that publishers hire different marketing and insurance companies here and there.

Would LOVE to compete in this with my copy of Predator - if it didn't completely SUCK.
Just check the official boards - you'll see.
- Lag in every game including the highest quality connections
- Voice chat so HORRIBLE that you can't even use it
- The inability to change gametype (how did THAT get thru testing?)
- When picking up weapons sometimes you standup with NOTHING in your hands, and thus no ability to fire
- Etc.
