Well, eventually anyway. The global fanboy collective waits in anticipation as our beloved console inches closer to world (ok minus Japan) domination:
Microsoft plans to launch the Xbox 360 in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and South Africa via both specialist and mainstream retailers by the end of 2008, according to European Xbox boss Chris Lewis.
...Lewis went on to say that each territory will have access to a localised version of Xbox Live, enabling them to communicate with other gamers using their own language, and that local helplines will also be established.
The end of 2008 is a long way off, so gamers on the tail end of the 360 launch might need some encouragement. Thank you, Mr. Gorbachev, for tearing down that wall. Thank you, South Africa, for digging the Xbox 360 and ending that Apartheid stuff. And thank you, Middle East, for taking a break from horrific violence and killing to join the console wars.
Localised XBL? Not necessary. I was looking forward to kicking the Saudi Royal Family's ass at Ghost Recon, domestic spying risks be damned.
International fanboys please weigh in.
