The internet has been flooded with reports saying that the
PlayStation 3 will actually be something of a rarity at E3 this May. Apparently some people believe Sony will be keeping
its next-gen console under lock and key by holding back on demo stands and booth presentations.Hopefully gamers have not been taking this to the bank, seeing as how official word hasn't come from Sony nor has it been confirmed by any other reliable sources. Even if Sony decides to limit access to the system, this shouldn't be taken as a sign of them flaking out or stiffing anyone (they did promise it in playable form, after all). One thing is for sure: since we're this close to E3, having suspicious reports crop up like this is nothing short of expected.
While we're not saying this is necessarily malicious or untrue, fans should be wary of such news and stay vigilant until we actually know for sure what Sony is going to do. The only way to know about that is less than a month away.
