Tomb Raider: Legend commercial
In case you haven't seen it, You Tube has posted the most recent Tomb Raider: Legend commercial for viewing. From early reviews, it's looking like the adventure game goes beyond skin deep with average rankings around the 80th percentile. Are you buying?

I'm in the UK and I've had this since Thursday, it's a brilliant game for fans of the series, but it's just way too short. Only took 7 hours to finish...
But for some reason it made no difference to me - I've played it through almost 4 full times now (once on normal, once on hard, once replaying each level on time trial, and then again through each level to get the rewards I missed scattered around), and I didnt get bored with it, so I guess you could say it's got pretty good replay value in terms of how fun it is to play.
The cliffhanger ending felt very rushed though.

WTF do people use reviews done by Stuff, Maxim or any other men's magazine? I get both of those magazines and I laugh at the reviews they give games b/c the ones that have either big breasted women or killing/stealng (a'la GTA,etc.) get ridiculously high scores.

lol, I've had this game two days now... and I didn't feel that ad really presenting the game as it should be. most of the stuff they showed there is probably playable in the demo(didn't play it, but most of that was pretty early stuff).
And Lara's voice sounded all crappy. compared to the game, I mean.

Joystiq, you should really learn the definition of percentile. Is Tomb Raider: Legend really in the top 20% of all games?
Anyway, I'm going to pick this one up. The series did kind of go stale, but this one really looks like it's going to deliver the same kind of content that attracted me to the original one. And I'll be honest, I still think the original is one of the best games I've ever played.
As for the length of the game, I don't mind it being short. I'd rather that it was short and fun than artificially stretched out.

Looks like the british girl I like two years ago. Sort of scary.

I had this game since March 30. I live in Italia and it was for sale so I bought it. I thought everybody has it by then and so to me this is old news. I love the game. I recommend it very much. enjoyable.

This is an example of an excellent game commercial. It's almost entirely in-game footage and shows me how the game will play.

Overall, it's a decent comeback for the series. I actually suggest a purchase -- good controls, good graphics, but most importantly, it's actually fun.

If you consider renting, buying...then yes.

I like that the commercial for the most part relies on in game footage instead of giving us a all cg (like call of duty did to make it seem next-gen). Although most gamers don't expect the game to look like the cg commercials, it isnt exactly being honest about gameplay. So its nice to see a modern game commercial show in game scenes.

I like Lara's new "hookshot". Ah, Link to the Past...
