I'd be down with a free gold service at the price of having to see a few ad banners on xbox live. i mean, i don't mind paying for the service now, but free is much better.

plus, if sony's live service is really free, microsoft may have to combat that somehow to keep up. that all remains to be seen, though.

I already have gold but im interested in getting some free stuff like Verizon gave out last time. Verizon was lame tho because it was America only.

Can I assume the Adidas will be worldwide since Adidas is an international company and this is suppose to be because of the WORLD cup, hence everyone?

If gamers benefit great.

I'm not sure if Sony's live service will be free or what standard. Let's face it I don't think Sony even know. Sony seem one of the most dishonourable companies I've ever come across. For example featuring CGI footage as gameplay footage. They've done this with PS2 and now PS3.

I also think developer's were getting abit pissed with Sony's non existant PS3 and late development kits. Plus it's gonna cost around £500 for a system that has similar graphically ability but alot harder to develop for and an unknown live feature. Err do I think the average joe will buy it? Nah I think Sony have def got it wrong this time.

By the way I owned a PS2 before. I just don't like how Sony communicate to their customers or potential customers. Lying is not a good move. Just my opinion.

If this type of advertising proves to generate revenue for the sponsoring companies, could we see more companies competing for the opportunity to sponsor XBL? Sooner or later, there may be a sponsor for every week of the year. If XBL Gold became a free service as a result, would MS create a new level of service for us paying customers? XBL Mithril would be pretty sweet...

hey Canada did qualify for the world Cup in 1986. WE lost all 3 matches of the first round lol.

I think we might make it into the world cup again in 30 years heh.
