My perdiction will be halo 3 does not come out when ps3 is released. Maybe 6-8 months after that (at a minimum).

I would, however, love to just try a game on the revolution. I want to see for myself how well the new controller will work and feel :)

Holy heck Captain Obvious!

Here's a prediction: The sun will rise tomorrow!

Of course the PS3 is playable - Ted Price and others have said this.

Nintendo's booth is ALWAYS one of the most popular.

There are always borderline booth babes.

Physics and advertising are a good call - but I'd say we're already at the point where they are big trends.

Halo 3 is the only one that isn't a sure thing - but that's a good bet.

PS3 playable/Nintendo popular. Geez.

"Sony to have the PS3 playable"

- Didn't Sony already say it was going to be playable? Or am I wrong?

"Nintendo will have one of the most popular booths"

- That is usually the case most of the time. Ask anyone who's been to numerous E3's (besides me) and they will usually tell you the same thing.

"One company will intentionally flaunt the limits on booth babes"

- That is pretty much a 100% guarantee...and it will proabbly be for a game that is complete crap.

"The two big trends will be in-game advertising and in-game physics"

- ...and micro payments (like was Oblivion has started doing.)

"Halo 3 will be unveiled"

- Unveiled? Not likely but maybe some info might be released to steal some of Sony and Nintendo's thunder.

Hopefully Nintendo organizes their booth in a way that it won't be a pain in the ass to walk around. Last year wasn't too bad but in 2004 (or was it 2003?)...good god...it was damn near impossible to walk around.

Nintendo's booth is going to be a pain, you need more space because people have to stand back with the Rev controller. On top of that, everyone wants to see it. I'll enjoy those two hours of press only time on Wednesday - cause that's the only time to get into Nintendo's booth.

All the glorious, glorious Revolution information is revealed, including more secrets, price point (obviously $200), and release date (obviously November-ish). Closed-door demo stations. Game demos finally shown using the controller. A number of games are revealed for the system. Also, DS Lite for America details confirmed. Nintendo completely owns E3.

PS3 also sees playability only for the elite of the gaming world. New PS3 controller = slightly improved dual-shock (yay). Sony reveals some more info, drops a price point, and still claims a Thanksgiving launch, although it won't make it 'til early 2007 (at least not worldwide). Some impressive demos are shown, especially graphics-wise. UT2007 blows people away. Still can't top Nintendo though...

Microsoft...nothing truly big. Maybe a Halo 3 video, but it won't be out this year. With no systems on the horizon, and between the more powerful PS3 and more interesting Revolution, MS is pretty much ignorable. Burger King 360 details? lol.

Seriously, E3 2006 is all about one thing: Revolution. Red Steel's generating some great hype, and quite honestly I do think Nintendo's got one last big trick up their sleeve that's gonna blow everyone away about the system. What that is however is well beyond me...

Sony already said the ps3 won't be playable, so I dunno about that one. Personally I wanna see what nintendo shows. The 360 is already out, and the ps3 is basically the same as the ps2 with media abilities (whoopie), so the revolution is the only thing bringing something new.

I myself dont care much about the x360, and probably will not get one, unless it gets good games, but will get the PS3 & revo for sure, but you all seem to be understanding microsoft.

Microsoft will want to start making money with the x360, and well they sure aren't yet. And to do this, they need good games. Im expecting MS to come up with some extremely awesome looking titles. They just have to, or otherwise they can just quit when the PS3 comes out.

Theyll probably show of blue dragon, halo 3, and well some new mech & sport games knowing the xbox. Sure, most of ours eyes (including mine) will be locked on the PS3 & especially the revo, but MS will simply have to come up with something.

As for other speculations, mhh... GTA: europe for the PS3, Killzone 2 for the PS3 (now playable probably), and ofcourse squeenix titles.

FF13 for PS3 probably, and some other weird squeeenix title like the bouncer which we'll forget about soon. Probably a new mana game as well (still empty slots on the world of mana site), im guessing atleast a cellphone game and maybe a mana MMO.

As for nintendo we'll know everything about the revo. They still have a trick up there sleeve, and E3 will be the time to show it. Probably that the controller has a built in mic, and maybe light sensor like boktai to. Would be easy enough to make.

Gamewise, we'll probably see mario 128, perhaps even playable, maybe a new mario kart for the revolution, an new mario party for the revo guaranteed. SSMB revo will be there to probably, perhaps a new fire emblem. Metroid prime 3 for revo is a given to.

Probably no special revo zelda yet, it's to soon for that since twilight princess isnt even out yet. E3 2007 we might get a glimpse of revo zelda, and E3 2008 will probably be the year of revo zelda.

Also nintendo will probably show more casual games made for the revolution downloadable via the WFC. They know thats the best part of the x360 and they'll want to get in with that to. There could be some casual games developed especially with the revo controller in mind, or they could just steal every shooting-based flash game on the entire internet :).

And they will probably announce revolution backward compatibility support for a lot of extra systems. Probably all the sega ones including the master system & the dreamcast, and maybe even some rarer ones like neogeo , or perhaps even CDI (lol) to. Everyone likes money, and the virtual console will be a good way to make a quick buck out of something that was just lying in the attic otherwise.

Anyway, there will be much more ofcourse, im wondering what all the 3rd party developers like capcom will do. Also im hoping for some quality launch titles, hopefully another gem like eternal darkness.

Other than that, I expect to see a PS3 controller that won't make me wonder how the heck I'm supposed to use it. Also expecting to hear a price that won't make me wonder how the heck I'm gonna pay for it.

Also DS wise, since there are 40 new WFC titles coming, we'll probably see WFC versions of every puzzle game ever created.

Dr mario, puzzle bobble, meteos, puyo puyo, super puzzle fighter, and well many many more. Maybe even a online version of brain training where you can compete against others.

Other titles to, like the new castlevania will prolly have a WFC mode. There might be a WFC able advance wars to. Worms & bomberman are guaranteed already.

The english version of osu tatakae ouendan will probably also be at E3. And mother 3 to hopefully.

Also some more DS rpg's, possibly a fire emblem (with online duel mode), and FF5 & 6 for DS will be shown. (in another note, maybe a ff7 port for psp?. Also, perhaps FF7 remake for PS3?, been a year since that FF7 techdemo :D ). Maybe golden sun 3 to.

Also, the team behind all the dumb pinball games like mario & metroid prime pinball will probably have some new title. Don't be surprised if suddenly there's a Zelda pinball for the DS announced.

one 3rd of the 20 launch titles are from Nintendo so I'd speculate that those will be...

1.Mario 128
2.Metroid 3
3.Smash Bros
4.Pilotwings RS
5.Duck Hunt RS
6.New Kid Icarus (gotta be some reason reggie mentioned it was one of his faves)

7. The new IP, dunno, Super Symphony Conductor Battle or something :)

As for the final secret/s I really wouldn't like to guess, I'd like a pair of those emagin goggles but I think the price put's it in the realm of fantasy.

And as for PS3 and 360, I'm really not intrigued enough to want to guess.

PS3 to be there but disappoint overall. Nintendo to blow people away with bloodlessly-violent titles like Red Steel. Xbox 360 to have a pretty good showing, but their best announcement will be Konami's classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle arcade games coming to Xbox Live Arcade.
Oh, and a Halo 3 trailer (same one to be shown next year as well).

I honestly think its pretty stupid people stating that MS has "no good games" coming, but come on, sure maybe its just your opinion, but from what I see there are a handful of AAA titles coming out:
Too Human
Mass Effect
Huxley
Halo 3
Ninja Gaiden 2
Lost Planet
Gears of War
RE5
Alan Wake
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
and many others, plus all the arcade games that will come out in the future

I didnt buy 360 because of the games at launch at all (although I had high hopes for PD0), I bought it because of the potential, and if all the games I listed alone come out good, then I have easily justified my purchase, not to mention all the other games that will be coming out that could be good.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Revolution the most because of the whole new way of playing and it just looks awesome, plus virtual console is a dream come true

as for PS3 - I see absolutly nothing worth looking forward to besides MGS4 and GoW3, and perhaps a couple FF's. Basically from what is going around I get to pay ~$600(although I'm sure sony isnt THAT stupid) for a console that has all the features of my xbox live that ive had for 4 years, as well as downloadable PSone games for most likely overpriced- as long as i re purchase a psp, mm gee that sounds grand.. and a new way to purchase music via an itunes like service.. grand... we know the graphics WILL not be that much superior to 360, so peh, besides a few games, theres no reason that jumps out and says BUY ME, theres nothing original.

As for my ps2, I love it to death, and its the only current gen system that still has games coming out that I want to buy (besides cube zelda - but I can play that on revo) : Okami, FFXII, and GoW2, among some others.

basically, from what I see - SONY is the one that has to step it up, but realistically? They don't need to because of all the reputation they have already and because of the name, so they could copy other companies all they want and have all the same grahpics and games as 360 but still people will recognize them as "better" based on the position they achieved for themselves in the past.

I've been doubting nintendo the past 3-4 years, especially with gamecube (huge disapointment imo, with a couple key games that are great), but now they look to totally rejuvinate my faith in them, I can already see it coming based on how they are handing DS lite, I just hope they don't let us down with revo, but from what I see so far, how can they?

I just hope virtual console allows online play from nes,snes,n64, which it 99% wont :( but hey - they still have some more secrets, right? :)

anyyyywayyys, lets find out at E3! =) I can't wait!

Just as you said...that is your opinion....and your entire post is just "your opinion." Plus for all those games you listed, some of them "may" end up not being AAA titles so try and keep an open mind.

Me personally I'm still waiting for a game on the 360 that justifies spending $400+...and Xbox Live Arcade is not a reason.

My personal hope is to meet up with some of the Joystiq guys while at the show. Failing that, I'd like to meet up with Jago. E3 is as much about being social as it is about the video games.

I told him, "dude, the XBOX 360 is not trying to be all around! It's because (microsoft)they can and simply Sony can't!"

wtf will Sony be an extender for? the ps2 or the PSP.

But i digress..........Sony might pull off something that'll make me eat this page!

Microsoft is going to announce some new peripherals. according to the interviews in Major Nelson's blogcasts, there's at least one unannounced peripheral they're working on and will announce soon. (since the camera is announced, it's something different)

Microsoft will open up their media connect features of the console a bit more to allow for XP and other media center devices to stream non DRM movies to the 360.

Sony will attempt to outdo Microsoft in the non-gaming features of the console. they're going to surprise people by introducing divx/xvid support, after they screwed up with the whole MP3 on their portable devices for years and lost marketshare there. Microsoft will counter within 2 months.

Microsoft will try hard to push Viva Pinata, but even if the game is perfect, people will decry Microsoft and Rare, and talk about how Rare was such a waste of money.

Nintendo will have all of their hardcore fans talking about how great the system is, but everyone else will talk about the potential of the system, and say that all the games are too similar, with the exception of the first party games. everyone will also express how difficult it is to wave the wand and walk at the same time, but that you eventually get used to it. they'll liken it to patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time.

My prediction?
Half of the Revmotes will be stolen by the end of the first day, their security wires cut. In retaliation, the Revolution that ships will be the size of a briefcase and contain high explosives, set to trigger whenever it detects a radio ID from one of the stolen Revmotes.

Heh. Seriously though, I expect half or more of Nintendo's booth will be DS Lites and DS games, there will be a couple GBA games. The Revolution will take the spotlight of course, but Nintendo won't let us forget their handhelds. The press will probably only briefly mention a few DS games as a passing thought though.

MS and Sony will both spend a fortune on high-def screens. MS's both will be stuffed with rows upon rows of games, probably a few Live stations showing off downloads & stuff. Halo 3? Video for sure, no idea on demo.

I'm torn between saying Sony will devote 20% of their space to "Media", showing HD movies on huuuge ass screens, and predicting they'll have very little media because people would wonder why they would waste so much space on "just movies".

So who thinks the playable PS3 will be in its final box? Or will they be behind the scenes in dev boxes? I have no guesses.

I wonder if Nintendo will hand out foam Revmotes. I had so much fun with my foam gamecube. "No! Don't throw your gamecube off the roof! Nooo...? Why did it bounce?" Until someone left it outside and it became a slimy chia-gamecube anyway. :(

The two years I went were known generally to have the worst swag. The year I said it wasn't worth the trip was the resurgance, the Golden age, the Renascence of swag. I cry.

almost forgot! Microsoft's presentation will focus on diversity. MS has been working hard to break the whole FPS/sports only idea. Viva Pinata, Blue Dragon, and several other games will be at the forefront of Microsoft's presentation, with other games still having a presence, so as not to alienate the existing userbase. expect a big emphasis on RPGs, in an attempt to send a message to Japan, and the PS2 holdouts.

they're gonna show off the camera and lots of little mini games, and show downloading of additional games over live.

they're also officially going to show off the facial mapping technology that's used with the camera.

Nintendo will show off lots of games, that follow the DS style of accessibility and simplicity, but for the Revolution. expect a lot of simple games, and a new WarioWare type game, using all sorts of different interface mechanisms.

Sony will try to focus on visually impressive games and will do downloadable PS1& PS2 games for the PS3. they will have some playable PS3 machines, though probably still on dev kits, similar to MS running the 360 games on macs.

MY PREDICTION - NINTENDO STEELS THE WHOLE E3

1ST of all they annouce how the DS is thrashing the PSP and breaking down barriers etc...annouce loads of new games (wi-fi) etc.. Then they annouce one major new feature... You will be able to, with a blank DS cart (they will sell in diff sizes) download any game you have downloaded from the virtual console via wifi... any old game on the go..Amazing..The totch screen will be used for mapping extra buttons..

They will then announce some other companys have been added to the VC...even some with added wi-fi..Woo!

Then then announce the name of revolution---->Nintendo VR..everyones like huh??? They then show video of some people wearing the a VR helmet with the revmote...Says how games are gonna change as we are now able to entre virtual worlds.Metroid will take us places we never been before...We now play as Mario himself...We are no longer playing the charactors..We are them!!! It will hit in october woldwide for $250.00..

Everyones shoacked and in awe...PS3 and X360 suddely seem old hat..

Peaceout

#39 seems really farfetched (Virtual reality helmet? They tried that already, and failed (though its an awesome concept)). But I personally would enjoy having downloadable VC games on my DS. But Seriously, MS and Sony still have a part to play in all this.

Well, if they don't come up with a better line up for 360, It is being dropped from my thoughts while I focus on PS3 and Revolution.

My prediction: Nintendo signs more deals with third parties, after having alot of them ignore the Gamecube. The Revolution will have more thrird party games, in addition to the Virtual console and the revmote, which will pull in massive amounts of attention.

The PS3 will pull in a very good amount of gamers with its awesome graphics and probably reveal some awesome upcoming games none of us are thinking of.

Microsoft will be fairly unpopular in comparison, having really nothing to show (I wouldn't really care about Halo 3 unless it was a demo and not just a trailor). They will attempt to bring in people by announcing new games, but people won't really care, the 360 line up will still be very limited.

Overall, out of the three gaming giants
Nintendo gets 50% of people
Sony gets 30%
and MS is stuck with 20%

All eyes are on Nintendo this year, from the rabid zealots to the genuinely curious. And I honestly think it'll be their year. The past few have been rather lackluster showings. But there's just too much to talk about. Virtual Console, DSLite, WiFi, Revolution, Red Steel, Zelda...

Besides...they owe it to people to finally reveal as much as they can about the Revo...it's time for the meat!

Microsoft shows off a few new peripherals and games (Ninety-Nine Nights, Halo 3 teaser, KOTOR 3) and maybe some new Live Arcade games. Otherwise, not much from the MS front...unless they debut a handheld or something.

Sony could have a decent show so long as they provide decent playable demoes and a revamped controller. As long as they don't tout on about media formats...it could be good.

But in the end, all eyes are on Nintendo. Given the hype going and expectations going into E3...they better deliver or the place will explode.

All those predictions are most likely going to happen. The Halo 3 unveiling is the only thing that no one knows for sure, but think about it. All that Microsoft has to do to steal away much of Sony's thunder is show off the game. As much as some people may not like Halo, it's a show stopper for sure, you must admit that much.

Everyone copies everyone else. Microsoft are no more original than Sony, criticise their "online service" but there's not too many other ways to implement a much desired console online service. The dualshock's shaped all controllers before the revmote for years. Nintendo has the edge in this regard, but it's in the place where the things it hasn't copied (DVD playback etc) has let it down at least somewhat.

MS better have some decent titles, and the list of "AAA" ones had about 2 "AAA" titles, most of those will probably wind up being, dare I say it A- or B titles.

PSP has been out long enough it should see some big things, like the PS2 a year after release. Plus it has eyetoy/PSone games etc.

Revolution needs to make some ground, the Red Steel impressed, the lack of blood was a waste and made the promise of the violent game hollow. We won't see Metroid, Mario, and Smash brothers as launches. They'll stagger them. US release for Revolution is when? They said they're not doing it internationally so maybe spring 07. Europe God knows.

PS3 will hopefully unveil some new games, I'm just hoping MGS4 US is as soon as possible, and some more details. As I'm getting a PS3 the moment an English language MGS4 is available. Kick ass. Hopefully we'll see the third-party support they're famous for and the controller.

DS? I'm pretty sure it'll be overshadowed so much by the Lite and the new Zelda that there's not gonna be much else after all the wetdreaming over the Revolution is finished.

My two cents anyway.

Here's my predictions:

Tecmo will not show Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360, but they will show DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball 2... Expect more footage from Mistwalker's 360 RPGs.

Nintendo will have some cool Rev titles playable, but the big title probably be the long-rumored Mario 128, which will most likely be video only. There will be a playable Zelda DS.

Sony's playable titles for the PS3 will probably be smaller name titles with obviously first-gen graphics. They'll continue to show CG videos for the big titles to build the hype. The PS2 will have a strong showing, with Okami, FF12 and GoW2 being more promising than anything shown for PS3.
