supposedly Gordon Freeman himself launches the satellite which enables the portal storms to occur, proven by the screenshot on the website, but I don't ever recall having to launch any satellites in the original Half Life...I do remember a part of a level occurring in a missile silo though. Anyone have a better recollection than my own?

Thanks for sharing.

Alright, anyone interested in reading this, please don't. It turns out it wasn't created recently and is therefore of little value to anyone anywhere. We should all follow the antique's implied suggestion and throw out our dog-eared copies of Faulkner and grab some Kellerman. Are you with me!?

Chris, just your luck to get two "this is so old" comments on two seperate posts of yours. I think these comments are getting old. Anyways, thanks for the timeline, never seen this before.

Way to take my post the wrong way Chris. I don't think that me saying that it is old is a negative comment at all, I'm just letting it be known. Seeing as you agree with the fact that this is a "news-centric blog," and that my definition of old is accurate (this was originally on digg 233 days ago according to a commenter); I have no idea why you should get so fussy. It's great that you're spreading the word and all, and I have nothing against this post; I just think that you should calm down when people (like me) say that a post on a news site is something just less than a year old.

antique,
Its because you offer nothing when you simply state "this is pretty old". Plus its just rude. How would you like it if you wrote up an article and the first post you get is from some guy who says "this is pretty old". Use your brain, its obviously going to piss the author off if you write something like that.

Thanks bv! the antique: we are *not* a news blog. We're a video gaming blog. When we post a video of an old Nintendo commercial, is that news? How about a tattoo on somebody's ass of Sonic? News? Here's how it works: we read the internets, like stuff we read, tell you guys about it.

You can understand I didn't wade through the cesspool that is the digg comment page to unearth the content's true age. Now then, for future reference, "this is old" comments piss us off something else.

Look here

I understand your argument except for the last sentence.

I do remember launching the sat. I remember it so well because it took me like an hour to get past the laser-tripmine staircase to get to the control room.

On a side note, I vividly remember asking myself afterwards, "What did I just do? That seemed like it was a bad thing to do!!" And then I saw the little sat. array icon-I contend that I was setting up the array expressly for the purpose of getting to Xen to stop the Nihilanth. Oops, my bad.

Also, I was like 13 when that game came out-how were we supposed to pick up on all of the subtlety? Oh yeah, rated T for Teen. Damn you, ESRB!!!!!!
