Kind of funny, they took the joke too long, and the final punch-line was really lame.

>"...perfect blend of student humor and stupidity."

Definitely.

>"Quite possibly the best internet skit ever"

Definitely not.

Are you sure this has anything to do with videogames? Seemed more like a John Woo takeoff to me.

Like whinger said, that has nothing to do with videogames, nor was it funny. Hello?Fuck! was even worse, I had enough when he picked up the laptop, but they managed too keep it going and turn it from a joke that's not at all funny, to complete bullshit. That guy also needs to learn to simulate a hangover...

Oh man Conrad... this is the best news item you could come up with today? Some old lame link Greg brings up? I seen that hello, fuck sketch ten years ago.

Both videos are very, very old. I admit they're kind of laughable, but there's better stuff out there. Slow news day Joystiq?

Quite possibly the lamest internet skit I've seen in years. I tried to have an open mind, but please... Conrad, go steal something from digg asap. I think your job is in jeopardy.

Whoa... calm down guys. I didn't really find it funny, but I thought the video came out well. It was entertaining to say the least.

This is the student film that the banned 360 commercial is based on. They originated the concept.

Calm down? It's not like it made me punch a hole through my monitor. Angelo "thought the video came out well" everyone! That should be the criteria for front page news!

Don't tell people to calm down. No one sounds riled up. Do you live in a cave? Comments are here for a number of reasons. Negative feedback is one of them.

I haven't watched the video yet (downloading too slow), but it definitely looks like it's going to be a ripoff of this Xbox 360 commercial:
http://media.putfile.com/Unseen-Xbox-360-Commercial
Someone said this is old though, so maybe Microsoft ripped off this; who knows. Anyway, the commercial is really funny; well directed.

Well I thought it was pretty funny. I'd like to do something like that at my school, sans the death of course.

Just last week Flashmob UF recreated the Banned XBox ad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoXwFcBmlpw

It translated very well as a flash mob. People involved loved it. People watching loved it. Listen for the cheering at the end.

Sorry, here's a better link for the Xbox 360 ad so you don't have to watch it on Putfile:

Good lord.... you all think this is 'stolen' from the 360 ad? More like the 360 ad was 'stolen' from what was possibly the best episode of the best British sit-com ever.... SPACED.

It's been ripped off so many times now it's just not funny. They're getting close to ruining the classic.

OMG!

That was the most unfunny thing I have ever seen. I am boggled by the fact that someone not only found it funny, but actually thought it was "Quite possibly the best internet skit ever".

This video was the suckiest suck that ever sucked!

It doesn't matter who stole from what. It's the quality that counts, and these guys were off to a good start but the dragged it on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on...

ahem, these are kind of old, not to discredit joystiq, but to make sure no one thinks they ripped it from that xbox commercial. Also around the time of those videos they were(olde english) talking about how msoft ripped them off. And also some links were posted here too.
Anywas they are still funny though, if not really gaming related. More of total randomness kindof funny but hey whatever floast ur boat.

I love, and have loved, oldeenglish.org for *quite* some time, being first introduced to its rap video.

Where does it say that Joystiq has to deliver news and only new news? It's a BLOG. I've accepted that. Move on people, or else suckle on this piece of news:

Images on the world wide web! GASP!

Lighten up guys! Like TheBlunderBus says, we're a blog - if you're looking for objective news then hit Gamespot or IGN. And if anyone says "this news is old" again I swear I'll go oriental on the delete button!

god, you guys are all so vicious.

what you find one post that doesn't tickle your fancy and now you turn on the writer? discounting anything else he has ever written or contributed to this website. disgusting behavior, there are much better ways to go about this.

people always seem so brave in front of a computer screen...

Err...Maybe I'm a bit odd, but I found this video hilarious. Especially the guy using his hand as a scope, and the basketball rolling past like tumbleweed.

I laughed for about two minutes at that basketball thing...

Anyway, probably not the best internet skit ever, but it's pretty freakin' hilarious.

As a previous commenter already said this is a rip off of a TV show called "spaced".

Simon Pegg executed it far better, probably something to do with him being a great comedy writer.
