The PSTP comic is just refering to when you play SSBM on the Gamecube occaisionaly characters end up in amusing poses. one of the PSTP characters keeps pausing the game.

the comic hitting RPG-TV this coming monday references a recent Joystiq blog post regarding Roger Avary's upcoming DRIVER movie. heres a temporary URL where u can check it out before it goes up.

Meh, the best one was PStP, but I think the best this week was definitely VGcats' Pooh disection.

I haven't liked VG Cats for a while. Since the strip with Leo breaking the giant chicken egg, at least. The whole strip and a large percentage of its fanbase kinda seem indicative of the rock star mentality that kinda seems to be sweeping gamedom and those who play games (with no offense meant to anyone here who reads it).

Definitely Press Start To Play. I do it all the time, too.

When you pause the game you can freely rotate and zoom the camera. So you always try to get the characters in funny poses and pause the game. And since it's 4 player you annoy everyone. So much fun :).

You should have used the Dueling Analogs Chuck Norris comic: http://www.duelinganalogs.com/?date=2006-04-17 that was awesome.

Are these meant to be game related?
If they are i do not see any relation with games and the myextralife comic...

It was hard to choose, specially between the My Extra Life one and the Diesel Sweeties one.

Ahh this was a tough one, they were all pretty good (although dueling analogs wasnt that great), but i had to go with press start to play, since that happens alot. Anyone remember shooting samus in ssb for the n64 and seeing her naked? entirely too amusing to me back then.

I don't know what you guys are talking about:

Number 1, 4 and 5 are nearly impossible to choose between.

Okay, lesson learned... the site doesn't like me using little arrows. i r teh n00b. To repost what I was saying earlier, with the above:

What does that mean, anyway, this "rock star mentality" to which you refer? The only common "mentality" I seem to notice between fans of the cats and the gaming community at large is a healthy sense of snark... and if snark = rock star anything, I should have a whooooole lot more money in the bank.

So please. Expand and explain.

Alright, let's do this *getting pumped* ...

minus_273 : as someone already clarified, the PSTP was about pausing the game during SSBM when your characters are in rather compromising positions. And Snakes on a Plane? Greatest fucking concept for a movie. I chose Diesel Sweeties, not just for that, but also because:

(a) It is a comic that doesn't get a lot of attention but I think it should.
(b) References the gaming community's "l337 sp33k" by blogging about n00b pwnage
(c) Plays Battleship. Total old school gaming.
(d) Having used to play games on old Apple computers, this was near and dear to my heart.

Chris : That's awesome, thanks man.

Mark D : VGCats did rock this week, but I wanted to get some exposure to the lesser-known comics and my rule is no more than 6 per week. PSTP was the exception because that struck a chord deep inside of me. Obviously, VGCats is getting some exposure despite its absence above.

linkman2004 : I'll keep looking for other wrapups, but I just didn't like the initial strip. Sorry, dude.

James : I thought I was doing people a favor by avoiding the Chuck Norris jokes :-p

Hiero : That is funny, but I don't even know which one you suggested. Where did you send it and what was it?

anonymous : The MyExtraLife comic, as I see it, is game-related because being able to put Windows on a Mac is going to have a major impact on Mac gaming. More people are going to buy Macs and still get their game on, and some people might even start trying out games on OS X now.

Crashlander for me. I was feeling good about it mid-way and I was hit with a Dreamcast ending. That made it a definite pick.

None of these were really laugh-out-loud funny, but I'm glad to see VGcats isn't on here for once. They're so not funny, and the recent one with Pooh bear...it's not funny, it's just sick. I don't want to see some fond memory of my childhood mutilated and torn apart. Plus, Penny-Arcade just did the Se-Pooh-roth joke a week ago, so come up with a new subject VGcats.

Diesel Sweeties incorporated Snakes on a Plane in their comic, and somehow still managed to be unfunny. In fact, most of the offerings for this week sucked. Or maybe, I just have a case of the mundays.
