an email obtained by the Seattle Times, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer maintained the company's continued losses
in its entertainment division in hopes of long-term profits. Next-Generation writes: "Less than a week after
Microsoft posted an operating loss of $388 million in its home and entertainment division, CEO Steve Ballmer said he
firmly believes the short term losses brought on by Xbox 360 production will bring long term rewards... Ballmer said
that Microsoft is 'well positioned for sustained, robust growth in the years ahead', and that the company will continue
